The mission of “Emil Racoviţă” National College of Iaşi is to promote excellence in education, expressed in terms of added value and created value, by developing all students to their maximum capacity.
The “Emil Racoviţă” National College of Iaşi is innovative within the framework of the pre-university Romanian education system and has active components of European strategies.
Education is seen as value for the students. The educational approaches are focused on:
• learning to know;
• learning to do;
• learning to live together;
• learning to be.
• Sept.1964 - “Middle School no 9” was founded
• 1969 – The highschool receives the name of the great biologist “Emil Racoviță”
• 1991 – The school becomes The “Emil Racoviță” Highschool.

• 2001 – As recognition of the quality education provided and the outstanding results along the years, the highschool receives the name of “Emil Racoviță” National College, being at that time the youngest college in the country.

• A new wing is inaugurated, an investment of the Local Council of Iasi
• 8 rooms (6 classrooms, 2 laboratories) and a festivity hall
• Starting with 2007-2008 school year, the classes take place only in the morning.
