Parks, Trails and Bikeways Use of Parks and TrailsMost connecting trails within Milton are accessible for various uses; hard-surface trails are the most suitable for mobility scooters, wheelchairs, inline skating and cycling. Refer to the opposite side of the map for urban parks and trail routes. To ensure parks and trails are clean and safe for all to enjoy, please follow the information on park signs regarding etiquette and hours of operation. Parents and guardians assume all risks for children in their care. The Town has a weekly maintenance schedule to keep parks at their best.
AccessibilityAccessible playground swings and features have been installed in many parks. You can also obtain an accessible swing belt to secure your child with special needs within the swings. To request an accessible swing belt, or for more information about accessibility, call our Coordinator, Accessibility, at 905-878-7252, ext. 2534.
Online Reporting Forms With your help, we can ensure your outdoor experiences in the community are positive and in keeping with the Town’s goal of a “safe, livable and healthy community.” We encourage you to use our online reporting forms at www.milton.ca/en/live/cleanandsafecommunity.asp to alert us about the following issues:
Graffiti: Report writing, drawings or symbols applied to any surface on Town-owned property. If you see graffiti vandalism in progress, call 9-1-1 immediately. Private property owners are responsible for removing any graffiti on their property. (905-878-7252, ext. 2500)
Streetlights: Report streetlights in Milton that are malfunctioning or in need of repair. (905-878-7252, ext. 2536)
Trails: Report obstructions, required repairs, trip hazards and tree maintenance issues (trimming, removal, etc.) that may be impacting trail navigation. (905-878-7252, ext. 2500)
Public Consultation for Future Parks The Town’s public consultation process is an opportunity for you to shape open space experiences. Read about park projects and watch for notices about upcoming public input sessions in local newspapers and on our website.
Milton’s Trails and Cycling Master PlanThis Master Plan, which was updated in 2014, is a guide for Milton’s multi-use, pedestrian and cycling network. It builds upon our existing system of roads and trails, and considers those planned in and surrounding Milton in the future. On-road and off-road cycling facilities are planned to provide connectivity throughout the community for cyclists.
What is Cycle Milton?Cycle Milton is a new initiative to foster cycling for recreation and sport in Milton. Cycle Milton unifies the different cycling disciplines in a common vision. Cycling disciplines include: Mountain, BMX, Cyclocross (mountain, road, trail), Track, Road and Para.
Watch for these Cycle Milton happenings:• Cycle Milton website: A one-stop resource for all
types of cycling information, including area cycling maps and opportunities for participation in local cycling events and programs.
• “Let’s Ride!” Cycling Program: This Town of Milton program teaches/develops fundamental cycling skills.
• Right to Ride Cycling Program: This new program for school children is being developed in conjunction with the Halton District School Board and will be implemented in 2015.

Share the Road: On-road BikewaysThe Town of Milton provides on-road bike lanes so that motorists and cyclists can easily predict the driving and riding movements of one another on residential streets. Bike lanes are defined as “a portion of the roadway which has been designated by striping, signing and pavement markings for the exclusive use by cyclists.”
Currently, there are on-road bike lanes on four streets in town; construction is underway to build two additional bike lanes.
On-road Bike Lane Signs:These signs indicate thata specific road lane has been designated for cyclists; motorists are not permitted in these lanes.
Share the Road Sign: These signs are used to inform motorists and cyclists that a roadway is shared; signs indicate when a bike lane comes to an end.
