Theoretical studies of ruthenium hydride-catalyzed addition reactions of benzalde-hydes to isoprenes leading to b,g-unsatu-rated ketones: The role of the ligandshydride, carbonyl, chloride, and triphenyl-phosphine of the catalyst

Elsevier B.V.http://dx.doi.org/10.1016/S0022-328X(14)00019-9

Calculation indicated that two p bonds ofisoprene had different reactivity, and theless substituted one had better reactivity. The role of the ligands hydride, carbonyl, chloride, and triphenylphosphine ofRuHCl(CO)(PPh3)3 were studied in ourpresent work.

Synthesis, characterization and catalyticstudies of aluminium complexes containingsulfonamidoeoxazolinate or epyrazolinateligands

A series of aluminium dimethyl complexesbearing sulfonamidoeoxazolinate or sulfo-namidoepyrazolinate ligands has beenprepared. They exhibit catalytic activitiestowards the ring opening polymerization of3-caprolactone in the presence of benzylalcohol.

Characterization of Rh(I) complexes bearingN-2-nitrobenzenesulfonyl substituted,N-heterocyclic carbenes

Two novel Rh(I) complexes bearing N-2-nitrobenzenesulfonyl substituted N-hetero-cyclic carbenes (NHCs) were synthesized. The NHC-metal complexes were charac-terized by IR, NMR, and single-crystal X-raydiffraction analyses.

Photosensitizing triarylamine- and triazine-cored porphyrin dimers for dye-sensitizedsolar cells

Two novel triarylamine- and triazine-coredporphyrin dimers were synthesized, andtheir photophysical and electrochemicalproperties indicated that their HOMO-eLUMO levels are appropriate for dye-sensitized solar cells. In the event, bothcompounds were shown to have photo-voltaic effect in dye sensitized solar cells.

Half-titanocene 5-t-butyl-2-(1-(arylimino)methyl)quinolin-8-olate chlorides: Synthe-sis, characterization and ethylene (co-)pol-ymerization behavior

A series of half-titanocene 5-t-butyl-2-(1-(arylimino)methyl)quinolin-8-olates chlo-rides was synthesized and well charac-terized. When activated with MAO orMMAO, all titanium complexes exhibitedgood activities towards (co-)polymerizationof ethylene and produced polyethyleneswith high molecular weight.

Influence of pendent alkyl chains on Heckand Sonogashira CeC coupling catalyzedwith palladium(II) complexes of selenatedSchiff bases having liquid crystallineproperties

Catalytic efficiency of palladium(II) com-plexes of selenated Schiff bases (Liquidcrystalline nature in some cases) decreaseswith alkyl chain length of pendant arm ofligand for Heck coupling but remains unaf-fected in the case of Sonogashira. Effect ofnumber of the chains on catalytic efficiencyfor Heck coupling is insignificant.

Synthesis of trinuclear PdeRuePd por-phyrin complexes with axially ligated Pdcenters. Prominent metal-to-ligand chargetransfer band in the visible region

Rueporphyrin complexes with pyridylpyr-azine as metal coordination sites were syn-thesized and the introduction of Pd-alkylunits led to the formation of a novelPdeRuePd trinuclear complex. The trinu-clear complex exhibited a prominent MLCTband because of the directional change inthe MLCT processes showing a distinct colorchange from orange to dark-green.

Efficient greenish-blue phosphorescent iri-dium(III) complexes containing carbene andtriazole chromophores for organiclight-emitting diodes

Two iridium(III) complexes containingcarbene-based cyclometalated ligands andpyridine-triazole ancillary ligand exhibitintense greenish-blue phosphorescentemission. The greenish-blue and whiteOLEDs using the titled complexes as thedopant emitters show effective electro-luminescence efficiencies.
