CUPPING KISSES
Cupping leaves colored marks after treatment.
They are not bruises, because there are no
broken capillaries, just open capillaries. The
depth of the color indicates the level of
stagnation that was present in the tissue; the
darker the mark, the more stagnation was
present. Cupping kisses can last 3 – 7 days.
AFTERCARE
• Drink plenty of water
• Avoid showers, steam sauna and
exercise immediately following
cupping therapy
• Light stretching and range of
motion exercises are beneficial
• Exercise the next day will help increase
circulation to aid in fading of
cupping kisses
• Cover and protect area from the elements
and avoid drafts
• Do not treat area with any creams
or lotions for 24 hours
This therapy utilizes silicone or plastic cups to
create suction on the body surface. These cups
are moved over the skin using gliding, shaking
and rotating techniques while gently pulling up
on the cup, or may be parked for a short time to
facilitate joint mobilization or soft tissue release.
Suction reaches deep into the soft tissue,
attachments and organs.
CUPP ING THERAPY is an adaptation of an
ancient technique. The purpose of this technique
is to promote health and healing by loosening
soft tissue and connective tissue, scarring and
adhesions, moving stagnation and increasing
flow and circulation.
Your personalized treatment begins with a
consultation regarding your specific injury or
condition. There are certain restrictions that are
considered when receiving cupping therapy.
PLEASE make sure none of these apply to
you before undergoing cupping therapy:
• Taking blood thinners
• Have diabetes
• Are pregnant
• Have cancer
• Have broken bones
