Have a super weekend!
I would like to begin by saying a huge
thank you to Parents, Carers and
Learners that attended our Y11
Information Evening on Wednesday-
it was lovely to see so many families. I
hope that you and your son/daughter
found the details shared helpful.
Should you require any additional
information regarding the GCSE
examination process please do not
hesitate to contact us.
This week, we had a two day external
review. The days were challenging at
times, however this was a useful
process for us to identify key areas for
improvement.
Today, we held our annual
Remembrance Service. As ever, the
respect and empathy demonstrated
by our Learners was exceptional.
We were delighted to welcome
Dan Jarvis MP, Colonel George
Kilburn MBE DL and Sue Thornton,
mum of former learner Matthew,
who served in The 4th Battalion-
The Yorkshire Regiment and was
sadly killed in Afghanistan on
Wednesday 9th November 2011.
The service was incredibly moving
and our Cadets were exemplary.
There have been a number of
visits this week. Our Year 9 Learners
went to Sheffield Hallam University
and today, 15 learners visited
Loughborough University. Many
thanks to Mr Bond and our
enterprise partner Julia Muir from
Gaia Innovation for making this
happen. This week we launched
