2. DESIGN LAB
i) TECHMO SOFTWARE (3 Phase Induction Motor Design)
TECHMO is powerful and easy tool which provide a simple automated and integrated
invironment to design squirrel cage and wound rotor induction motor
The software is very helpful for finding detailed design parameters which are essential to
design an induction motor

Highly interactive graphical user interface makes it easy to understand the overall
constructional details of design motors
Different characteristics plots relate to the design performance of the motor.
Software also have the capability to find out equivalent circuits parameter, temperature rise
and loss factors at different stages of the motor operation.
The estimation of cost relating to different model may be achieved with the help of this
software in details
ii) TECHTRAN SOFTWARE (Single phase and Three Phase Transformer Design)
It is a useful software for the design of single /three phase transformer and the following
are the features of this software.

Magnetization Parameters (Magnetizing force, saturation flux density, coercitivity,

Lab VIEW is a development environment for problem solving, accelerated productivity and continual innovation. The software should be inline with latest version.
3. INSTRUMENTATION
i) ELVIS Board
The NI Educational Laboratory virtual instrumentation suite (NI ELVIS) is a hands-on design and prototyping platform that integrates twelve commonly used instrument such as oscilloscope , DMM function generator and Bode analyser etc into a compact form suitable for the hardware lab for class room. Based on NI LabVIEW graphical system design software, NI ELVIS with USB plug and play capabilities, the integrated system offers the

flexibility of virtual instrumentations and also allows for quick, easy measurement acquisition and display. It helps educators to teach a variety of concepts such as measurement and instrumentation, analog and digital circuits, control and mechatronics, telecommunications and embedded theory.
ii) Analog System Lab Kit
Four JFET General Purpose Dual operational amplifiers(TL082)
Three wide bandwidth precision analog multipliers(MPY634) Two 12-bit parallel input multiplying digital-to-analog converters(DAC7821)
Arrays of resistors & capacitors along with potentiometers. Slots for connecting diodes and transistors for building various analog systems. A breadboard for the general purpose prototyping to carry out student mini-projects. The power supply is internally connected to all the ICs (except DAC) to provide ±10V to
ensure proper functioning. The DACs require 5V externally for operation.
iii) Technical Specification of “Atomic Force Microscope (AFM)”
i) “Atomic Force Microscope (AFM)” is required for microstructural characterization of
advanced research on materials. The system should also have the modular
attachments to perform scanning tunnelling microscopy (STM), and non-contact
mode of AFM operation on the samples at ambient condition. The detailed
specifications are given below:
ii) Atomic force imaging mode: Contact mode and non-contact mode of operation.
True quantitative lateral force measurements must be possible. Contact and non-contact
mode resolution: X-Y: 0.05nm, Z: 0.01nm or better.
iii) Scanning tunnelling imaging: Scanning tunnelling mode resolution: X-Y: 0.05nm and
Z: 0.01nm or better.
iv) Sample size: Range 1mm x 1mm x 0.5mm to 10mm x 10mm x 2mm. Sample or
tip movement should be controlled by Computer and CCD camera.
v) Scanning range: Maximum scan area 20µm x 20µm or Larger
vi) Data acquisition system: Windows based data acquisition system (minimum
Windows 7) with PC and printer (colour LaserJet).
vii) Accessories: Scanning tips for atomic force imaging (100 Nos.), Scanning
tunnelling imaging (100 No.) and NC-AFM (100 No.) Rates for each of the tips must
be quoted separately.
viii) CCD camera: Suitable CCD camera should be attached with the system for
positioning of the sample and tips in both the AFM & STM mode of operation.
Magnification of CCD camera should be 100X or better.
ix) Calibration: Standard samples for calibration (AFM & STM) must be provided

x) Anti-Vibration Platform: Vendor should requested to supply the suitable anti-
vibrational platform for the system.
xi) Software: Vendor should provide the software for all the modes of operations and
the image processing software’s.
xii) Warranty: Comprehensive warranty for 1 Year after successful installation,
commissioning and Training. Vendor should depute 1 trained person for 1 year to
operate and maintain the system successfully at NIFFT.
xiii) Training: Onsite training after installation at NIFFT, RANCHI
xiv) AMC: Vendor is requested to provide the AMC rates after the completion of
warranty period.
xv) Acceptance criteria: For AFM and NC-AFM atomic resolution imaging on mica
or HOPG
xvi) For STM, atomic resolution imaging on HOPG.
xvii) Technical bid should also mention the preinstallation requirement of the quoted
system. Capability of the vender must be provided with the technical bid by giving
the list of similar equipment, which are already been installed. Proven record for
supply of similar equipment in India and after sale service in India will be criteria for
vendor selection.
Iv) TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION FOR LUMINESCENCE SPECTROMETER
i) Supply, installation and commissioning of Luminescence spectrometer. The instrument must
have following specifications. The scope of supply includes all the accessories needed for
smooth functioning of the instrument.
Principle:
Computer Controlled luminescence spectrometer with the capability of measuring fluorescence,
phosphorescence or chemiluminescence.
Source:
Pulsed xenon flash lamp.
Monochromator:
Excitation 200 – 800 nm or better. Emission: 200-900nm or better. Standard excitation cut-off
filter at 390 nm.
Wavelength Accuracy:
+/- 1.0 nm or better.
Wavelength Reproducibility:
+/- 0.5 nm or better.

The excitation and emission slits should be 2.5-15 nm or better.

Sensitivity:
Minimum signal to noise level using the Raman band of water, excitation 350 nm is 500:1 RMS
measuring noise on the Raman peak, and 2000:1 RMS measuring noise on the baseline.
Polarizer:
Instrument must include an automated Polarizer that consists of 2 filter wheels; each wheel
containing a horizontal and vertical polarizing element. Polarizer positions should be software
controlled and can be manually set or automatically controlled for polarization, anisotropy or G-
factor.
Software operating system:
Windows environment. The luminescence intensity and the excitation and the emission
wavelength should be displayed in real time. Spectral and time drive data should be displayed in
real time and can be stored on disk.
Data Analysis:
Routines should be available for performing mathematical calculations on stored data. These
include arithmetic functions, smoothing, 1-4th order derivatives, area, peak, normalization,
merge, difference, interpolate and least squares fit.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
1. INSTRUMENT:
High resolution X-ray powder diffractometer with Bragg Brentano geometry, low axial divergence, solid
state detector for the study of qualitative and quantitative phase analysis, determination of crystal
structure, precise lattice parameter determination and crystallite size and lattice strain determination.
Latest generation diffractometer should be provided, which may be upgraded to new future applications
without much realignment. The equipment should serve the purpose of Powder diffraction. Detailed
specifications are as follows.

20.4- Pre-installation requirements of electrical power, instrumental earthing, water, ambient air, civil /
mechanical/fabrication should be included in the quotation.
20.5- The vendor has to provide clear compliance statement with respect to the specifications given in
the tender document and fully supported by the manufacturer’s original literature and part numbers.
Any other claims will not be accepted and may lead to the rejection of the bid.
