TPM es una forma de vida en el trabajo cuyo objetivo es eliminar las perdidas crónicas e identificar las potenciales fallas, por medio del mantenimiento autonómo y del mantenimiento planificado, realizados en actividades por pequeños grupos de trabajo, para alcanzar cero falla y cero defecto en los
equipos.
