Frisylen Die Cutting Boards Steps to Successful Cutting: Parallel Alignment & Perpendicular Cutting

Check that your press and tooling are properly aligned.Freeman Schwabe Hydraulic Presses & SIMONA Frisylen Die
Cutting Surfaces exhibit tight tolerances of parallelism and are engineered specifically for die cutting.
Proper alignment allows for perpendicular cuts – which generates clean cut parts, minimized die wear, and leads to longer life of the cutting surface.

Frisylen Die Cutting Boards Roadblocks to Successful Cutting: Improper Alignment
Top and/or Bottom Press Platens that are not parrallel - compromise the entire cutting process and quality of the final cut parts.
Improper alignment of the bottom press platen (table) results in bowing of the cutting surface, inconsistent cut quality, and damage to both the tooling and cutting surface.
Improper alignment of the top press platen results in the tooling unable to cut through materials cleanly. The cuts produced are of often poor quality and inconsistency. Shortened die life and damage to the cutting surface occurs.
Improper alignment results in the tooling entering the material and cutting surface at an angle. This angle can lead to damage of the cutting surface very quickly and provide very inconsistent cut part quality.

Frisylen Die Cutting Boards Troubleshooting: Quality Concerns of Cut Parts
Problem: Part does not cut easily and have to cut deeper into the board for better cut part result.
Possible Cause: Cutting board may not have a hard enough surface for the application
Solution: Try a cutting board with greater shore D hardness.
Problem: Cutting surface has low spots resulting in inconsistent part cuts.
Possible Cause: Prolonged and concentrated cutting in one particular area of the board.
Solution: Try utilizing the entire cutting surface instead of repetitive cuts in the same area. Also rotate and flip the cutting surface for even wear.
Problem: Portion of the tooling will not cut thru the material.
Possible Cause: The cutting die has become dull.
Solution: Sharpen your cutting dies regularly for optimal cut parts.
Problem: Pieces of cutting board falling out after initiating a cut.
Possible Cause: The cutting die is entering the cutting board at an angle.
Solution: Ensure press and tooling parallelism to cutting surface.

Frisylen Die Cutting Boards Self Healing Characteristics of Proper Alignment & Perpendicular
Cutting
1.A cut is made into the board
2.The pressure from the next cut closes the first
Perpendicular cutting results in longer life from your cutting surface, minimum tool wear, and
perfectly cut parts.

Use the whole sheet While cutting
Store boards horizontally to prevent warping / bowing.
Resurface the boardfor a like new surface
Adjust your cutting depth.01 in. (0.3mm) is reccommended
