be able to make it this year however our local chapter will be well represented by our Immediate Past-President Dee

The month of March offers lots of opportunity for you to get involved starting with Career Day on March 9th and the
15th at two Junior High Schools in Chino I am very excited about going and speaking with the kids about a rewarding
career in surveying
On the 19th of March there will be a couple of things going on that day with our annual Trig-Star competition at Mt San
Jacinto College in San Jacinto Wow Tim Rayburn and David McMillan along with Brian Hess have really stepped up
to the plate on this one great job guys We need volunteers to help proctoring and helping students get to where they are
going
Also on the 19th is the ―Surveying America event from 1000 AM to 100 PM (Pacific Time) exactly so if you have
GPS equipment and time off from work then check out the information in this newsletter and get involved We would
like to have several of the participants of this event set up their equipment on or near the Mt San Jacinto College campus
in San Jacinto so the kids coming to participate in Trig-Star will see Land Surveying in action

According to the National Society of Professional Surveyors ―Surveyors
Week represents the time each year when all surveyors have the opportunity
to join in celebrating their profession Through this celebration they promote
public recognition of surveyors and surveying and occurs the 3rd week in
March starting on Sunday
The question is how as a Professional Land Surveyor will you be celebrating
or promoting the Land Surveying profession during National Surveyors
week
I look forward to seeing all of you at the March 16th joint dinner meeting with NAWIC located at the March Air Mu-

Fellow Surveyors
Greetings the month of March is and will be a very busy month for all of us in the surveying world We start the month
with our annual CLSA conference in beautiful downtown Las Vegas Nevada beginning Saturday the 5th of March with
a pre-conference gathering I am not sure of the details but being in Las Vegas I am sure you will figure it out I will not
be able to make it this year however our local chapter will be well represented by our Immediate Past-President Dee
Smith our President-Elect Peter Wiseman and our Secretary Ryan Versteeg Also you will want to be there to witness
the RiversideSan Bernardino Chapter receiving the CLSA Newsletter of the Year for 2010 award on March 8th Great
job Peter (the 2010 Side Shot editor and Secretary)
Last but never least our very own Surveyorsrsquo Week March 20th thru the 27th
According to the National Society of Professional Surveyors ―Surveyors
Week represents the time each year when all surveyors have the opportunity
to join in celebrating their profession Through this celebration they promote
public recognition of surveyors and surveying and occurs the 3rd week in
March starting on Sunday
The question is how as a Professional Land Surveyor will you be celebrating
or promoting the Land Surveying profession during National Surveyors
week
I look forward to seeing all of you at the March 16th joint dinner meeting with NAWIC located at the March Air Mu-
seum Until then enjoy your month and as always ―Happy Surveying
Sincerely
Wm Tim Smith PLS

be able to make it this year however our local chapter will be well represented by our Immediate Past-President Dee
