• Earth Day is celebrated in the US on April 22

• It was founded by U.S. Senator Gaylord Nelson (D-Wisconsin) as an environmental teach-in in 1970.

• Earth Day is a day designed to inspire awareness and appreciation for the Earth's environment.

• The United Nations celebrates an Earth Day each year on the March equinox, which is often March 20, a tradition which was founded by peace activist John McConnell in 1969.

Nowadays, Global warming and some environmental pollutions have become a serious problem. Our Earth is sick. It’s

time to save our planet . Let’s go action!

Drive your car differently – or drive a different car altogether!

• Replacing your car with a fuel-efficient car Hybrid Cars, cars with a good mileage • Drive less!

• Slow down!

Your house – not too hot, not too cold!

Things you can do to make sure you're maintaining the right temperature in your house include:

• Turn off your heating system.

• Make sure windows and doors are closed.

• Of course, if you can stand it, the best way is to avoid using air conditioners.

Take care of your refrigerator monster!Refrigerator is the biggest consumer of

electricity.

• Older refrigerators are less efficient than the newest one !

• Turn on your "energy saver“ button.

• If you don't need it, don't waste the energy.

Make sure the refrigerator doors close properly,and keep the cool in.

Green plants, more trees to provide shade

• Planting more trees will help in the short term.

Go organic.

• We should go organic to protect our land .

Besides there are other simple things you can do:

• Eat locally-grown food.

• Eat fruits and vegetables in season.

Buy recycled• Takes less energy to manufacture

a recycled product

• Buy in bulk.

• Buy one of something, not 21 of something.

• The recyclable logo (three arrows forming a triangle) is fairly common now.

At lastAs we said at the start, if everyone follow some points on the list, we can make a difference and change our living space.

Go through your closet. Donate or recycle what you really don't need, then make a pledge not to replace everything you just got rid of.

Re-use in creative ways. Be creative in what you use for work, play and leisure. You don't always have to buy new products for activities.
