“When I started my plastering business at
the beggining of 2010 I
decided to advertise in ‘East
Grinstead living’ as the cost
was reasonable and it seemed
like a good publication. Little
did I know just how much of
a good idea that was!! Over
the following 6 months I
would say that around 70%
of my leads came from that
one 1/4 page advert and
when I heard that there
was going to be another
publication (Ashdown Forest
Living) by the same people
going out to another area, it
was a no brainer to advertise in that one too!”

“...unless a man understands the Weald, he cannot write about the beginnings of England...” Hilaire Belloc
“The Weald Forest Ridge, historically part of the Weald, has a scenic quality of its own. The high country, much of it between 400 and 600 feet above sea level, runs almost unbroken from the county boundary near Tunbridge Wells to Horsham, and includes the breezy, treeless heights of Ashdown Forest. It is famous for its far-ranging views South to the Downs and for its magnificent gardens like Wakehurst, and Nymans, in which the sandy soil is especially favourable to rhododendrons.”Crouch, M, (1969) The Heritage of Sussex, Macdonald

the Rackets court at buckhurst park enjoys the distinction of being the last remaining privately owned Rackets court in England. it remains interesting for its richly coloured red floor - thought to have been stained with bull’s blood! it is one of very few mid 19th century courts to have survived, and possibly one of the earliest enclosed courts in the country. it has been privately owned by the same family for over 150 years. built in 1857 by doting parents to commemorate the safe return of their eldest surviving son and heir from the siege of sevastopol (1854-1855, crimean War), it reveals a fascinating history and insight into the sackville family and the 19th century game of rackets.

GET FIT IN THE COMFORT OF YOUR OWN HOME
“Before I contacted Hire Fitness, I was not feeling good about myself, and was rather overweight. I am really busy and don’t have time to go to the gym. I hired 3 pieces of equipment for 3 months and Michael kindly threw in the
rower for free. It has been hard work but really satisfying to lose weight and to have a new outlook on life. Even my wife says that she quite fancies me, so that can’t be bad! Thank you Hire Fitness.” Jamie, Sussex
Michael Wall, established his Hire Fitness business 3 years ago & has built up a large portfolio of clients hiring & selling fitness equipment for use in the home He also supplies commercial equipment to gyms, offices, salons and studios.
People are increasingly choosing to hire in their homes for many reasons, most often for convenience & lack of time or inclination to go the gym. Parents can also look after their children whilst they exercise at home. All Hire Fitness models are of the highest quality, robust, good looking, with excellent computer functions. There is a hire- to- buy scheme where clients can try a machine prior to making a purchase. The Power Plate is his most popular model, it can burn 350 calories in 10 minutes. Other benefits include cellulite busting, improved blood circulation, stronger bones but most of all – improved toning.

Choirs seem suddenly to be all the rage. Over the last three or four years, more choirs are springing up in towns across the length and breadth of the country and East Grinstead is no exception. The television programmes of Gareth Malone have clearly shown that anybody can sing, and the success of the BBC choir competition, Last Choir Standing has given everybody an insight into the incredible sound a choir can make.
But the real benefit of a choir comesfrombeingpartofit.aquicksearchontheinternetrevealsthatthereareseveralopportunitiestojoinachoirinEastGrinsteadalone:

EDITORIAL
Just a short trip to Forest Row
and you’ll have access to the
recently opened Riverview Dental
centre offering NHS Dental care.
Established at the end of last year
by Dr. Esmail Harunani founder or
Harunani & Co Group of Dental
Surgeries. The centre serves the
local communities of Forest Row
& surrounding towns & villages.
With modern decor, the use
of the latest equipment & a
high level of service, it boasts
facilities rivalling any private
dental surgery. Many local dental
patients have welcomed a new
local surgery offering NHS &
Private dentistry alike. This includes
treatment ranging from pain relief
to cosmetic treatment enhancing
the appearance of your smile.
Harunani & Co. Group of
Dental Surgeries was established
in 1986. With years of experience
& the latest training in Dentistry,
Dr Harunani oversees several
successful Dental Centres across
the South East, the Riverview
Dental Centre being the most
recent to open.
On asking what he feels
Riverview Dental Centre, being
an NHS Dentist, can offer clients
he comments:
“We have experienced
ethical dentists who explain the
treatment options clearly and are
transparent with their explanation
of costs.
“Even though we are treating
patients on the NHS we have
set up a modern state of the art
surgery, fully compliant with the
appropriate health and safety
and decontamination guidelines.
We have made the practice
patient focused, which aims at
making the dental experience
pleasant for all patients. Our
waiting rooms are designed to
be friendly. We have a plasma
screen showing before and after
photos that we have carried
out. The surgeries are equipped
with live cameras and screens
in which patients can view the
state of their teeth real time.

MUSE Make-up
Have you Overplucked your Eyebrows? Can’t apply great make up?Lips lost their definition and thinning?Hate to be seen without your make-up on?
Which woman doesn’t want to look her best all the time?
Q: What’s the differencebetween a traditional tattooand Semi -permanent?
A-MaryAnne: A traditional tattoo is done to last, so inks are implanted deeply in lower layers of the dermis. Semi permanent Art be it make up or body, is worked only into the very upper layers of the dermis and with specially formulated pigments; it is a graze of colour and needs to be boosted annually or it will fade away.
Here are some of our customer testimonials:
“Just wanted to say how delighted I am with my eyebrows! They have settled down nicely into the perfect colour and shape. We went to Lanzarote
for a week and it was a god send to look made up by the pool with just my brows on! I feel like I have had a face lift at a fraction of the price and just look so much smarter and finished! I am a very happy customer and wish I
had done it years ago!” Caroline F
“I’m just dropping you a quick line to let you know all is well and I’m loving my new brows! You were of course completely right, my brows did need doing and the shape is amazing. The freedom of not having to wear
make-up and still looking ok is fantastic.” Heather K
“For years I struggled with drawing in my eyebrows and the time it took that I simply had to do something about it. I am so impressed with my eyebrows now that applying my make-up takes half the time and I look
great! Thank you MaryAnne.” Mimi P
Pretty permanent make-up addresses these problems giving you a beautifully groomed and defined look that can also take years off your appearance and solve your make-up problems.Plus It lasts from morning to
night, day after day, month after month!
This is a proven safe and easy way you can look better fast, without surgery. You can have more confidence and more time!

Trish lost over 4 stone
“I am very impressed with the Metabolic Weight Loss Programme. I’m absolutely delighted that I have lost 4 stone. It has defi nitely changed my life!
I never thought that I could have lost my weight as easily as I did. Before doing this Programme, I was threatened with diabetes which is now a thing of the past – my blood sugar levels and cholesterol are now down. My doctor is very pleased with me! Since completing the programme I walked 30 miles in one week.
Rachel’s weight loss programme has been great value for money. I have paid more at diet clubs than I have on this programme. I should have done this years ago - It has given me a whole new lease of life!”
