of needs in the building and development industries. Since this time
Empire Engineering has been at the forefront of these industries
within both the Sunshine Coast and Coral Coast regions, by
helping clients build and develop, effi ciently and profi tably.
Empire Engineering operates offi ces in both the
Sunshine Coast at Mooloolaba and the Coral Coast

OVERVIEW Empire Engineering has provided structural engineering services for over 3000 residential houses throughout Queensland. Empire Engineering is capable of providing structural engineering services for all aspects of residential house construction including, slab and footing, steel and timber framing, bracing, block-work, suspended slabs and retaining walls. Empire Engineering also has extensive experience in a variety of alternative construction methods such as waffle pods, screw piers and thermo-wall style products.

Our Company PROJECT Industrial Warehouse Development
LOCATION Turbo Drive, Paget
CLIENT Murcorp Pty Ltd
OVERVIEW Empire Engineering provided civil and structural engineering
services for this 3000m2 industrial development within the
General Industry Precinct of Paget. The structural engineering
component of the project involved the design of slab and footings,
tilt panels and roof framing. The civil engineering component of
the project involved the design of the concrete driveway and carpark
and stormwater infrastructure. Our engineers also undertook
stormwater quality modelling and prepared a Stormwater
Quality Management Plan for the site. Empire Engineering also
undertook the role of operational works applicant for the project.

3000m2 INDUSTRIAL WAREHOUSE
PROJECT 6 Storey Residential Complex
LOCATION Oaka Lane, Gladstone
CLIENT Prime Group Australasia Pty Ltd
OVERVIEW Empire Engineering provided civil and structural engineering
services for the construction of this $8.5 million 6 storey
residential complex. The project comprised of conventionally
reinforced suspended slabs supported by load-bearing block walls.
Of particular note was the use of the upper level load-bearing fire
rated walls used as deep beams to effectively reduce the number
and depth of beams to the podium level.
6 STOREY RESIDENTIAL COMPLEX
PROJECT North Lakes State College Multi-Purpose Hall
LOCATION Memorial Drive, North Lakes
CLIENT National Buildplan Group
OVERVIEW As part of the Federal Government’s Building the Education
Revolution scheme in 2010, Empire Engineering was commissioned
to perform the structural engineering design and documentation of
numerous general learning and multi-purpose buildings including
North Lakes State College. This project featured clear spanning
steel portal frames throughout the vaulted roof providing a
multi-purpose facility free from internal columns to maximise
versatility.

NORTH LAKES STATE COLLEGE MULTI-PURPOSE HALL
PROJECT Bargara Cultural & Community Centre
LOCATION Hughes Road, Bargara
CLIENT Bundaberg Regional Council
OVERVIEW Empire Engineering was commissioned to provide the structural
design and engineering for this award winning architecturally
designed structure. Our engineers were required to undertake
complex steel framing modelling and analyses to develop suitable
structural solutions, allowing the eye catching angles and lines to
be constructed in this cyclonic coastal region.
BARGARA CULTURAL & COMMUNITY CENTRE
PROJECT Across The Waves Sports Club Redevelopment
LOCATION Miller Street, Bundaberg
CLIENT Brand & Slater Architects
OVERVIEW Empire Engineering was comissioned to provide the structural
design and engineering for this redevelopment. The skewed
columns and asymmetrical canopy of the porte-cochere and other
outdoor areas of this redevelopment required our engineers to
undertake complex modelling and analyses, whilst working closely
with the architect and builder to ensure the end product would both
achieve the desired aesthetic result yet remain feasible to construct.

PROJECT Lexus Vehicle Showroom
LOCATION Cnr Maroochy Blvd & Dalton Dr, Maroochydore
CLIENT National Buildplan Group Pty Ltd
OVERVIEW Empire Engineering was commisioned to provide the structural
design and engineering aspects of this $2 million vehicle
showroom. The glass façade of the showroom provided limited
bracing opportunities for the building. However, as the façade was
an essential feature of the building, Empire Engineering developed
a hidden framing and bracing solution that did not detract from
the required building aesthetics.

PROJECT Brightwater Retail & Medical Centre
LOCATION Freshwater Street, Brightwater Estate, Sunshine Coast
CLIENT Pratt Property Group
OVERVIEW This shopping centre, retail and medical centre forms part of a
$40 million development by Pratt Property Group which also
includes a tavern and multi-storey unit development. Empire
Engineering was commissioned to undertake the civil and
structural engineering services which include a 7,500m2 basement
carpark and over 4,800m2 of retail and medical office facilities.
The podium slab was designed as a post-tensioned concrete slab to
provide the most cost effective solution for the client.
BRIGHTWATER SHOPPING CENTRE
PROJECT Parklands Rural Residential Estate
LOCATION Isis Highway, Bundaberg
CLIENT Multilow Pty Ltd
OVERVIEW Empire Engineering has been involved with the ongoing rollout
of Parklands Rural Residential subdivision, particularly stages
7, 8 and 9. The developer of Parklands Estate specified that a
new standard in rural residential estates be set with Parklands.
Our engineers came up with a design including a one-way cross-
fall road with asphalt and concrete edges, which resulted in an
infinitely more saleable product to that of the traditional bitumen
seal and table drain construction. Empire Engineering also
devised an alternative trunk drainage strategy for Parklands
Estate which negated the need for a substantial detention basin as
previously proposed by other consulting engineers. This allowed 8
hectares of additional land to be contributed as parkland.

PROJECT La Madalena Luxury Apartments
LOCATION The Esplanade, Bargara
CLIENT La Madalena Partners
OVERVIEW Empire Engineering was commissioned to provide the structural
design and engineering of this 5 storey $5.5 million residential
apartment complex. Our client required a structural solution that
could be constructed using locally available labour and trade. Our
engineers developed a traditional concrete block and suspended
slab design that the builder was able to rollout with maximum
efficiency and no costly holdups.
LA MADALENA LUXURY APARTMENTS
PROJECT 66 Lot Residential Subdivision
LOCATION Tarrawonga Drive, Calliope
CLIENT Homes R Us (Aust) Pty Ltd
OVERVIEW Empire Engineering provided civil engineering services throughout the concept stages of this development right through the construction phase of this $5.8 million 66 lot residential subdivision. Empire Engineering provided the civil engineering design of all elements of the development including roads, stormwater, sewerage, water and earthworks. Our engineers also undertook stormwater quality and quantity modelling and prepared a Stormwater Management Plan for the development. Empire Engineering also undertook the role of operational works applicant for the project.
