What are some challenges you have faced and how did you overcome them?
How has the College of Health and Human Development prepared you for your future?
I struggled my first semester of college with feeling lonely and having too much free time. I got involved the following semester, created bonds, and met new people.

The College of Health and Human Development has provided many opportunities for me to grow as a student. I was able to explore the CHHD deeper as a freshman because I lived on the college themed floor.
What are some benefits of being involved?
The biggest benefit that I have received from being involved in knowledge of the school and its resources. I was an Orientation Leader in the summer of 2015 and that position helped me to become more acquainted with the university. I have also been able to network with campus faculty as well as other students who can help me stay

How has CSUF prepared you for your future?
CSUF has encouraged me to get involved and reach higher with my education. By getting involved I am able to meet new people and explore the diversity of CSUF.
Emily Flynn is a junior Sociology major and minors in Child and AdolescentStudies and Women and Gender Studies. Emily’s passion for helping those in need has led her to a path in Social Work. She plans to go to graduate school after graduating from CSUF in 2018 and pursue a Master’s in Social Work. Emily wants to become a School Social Worker and help children with behavioral issues and special needs. As the Professional and Career Development Manager for the Child and Adolescent Studies Student Association, Emily has been able to get involved on campus and develop networking skills. Her involvements as a Student Ambassador in the Student Success Center has helped develop her time
management skills as well as help her network within the CHHD.
