With the new Task Flow Recorder for developing CICS applications, EasiRun Europa GmbH provides a universal solution that simplifies the routine and complex tasks of every application developer, system programmer or project manager. Whether VSAM data records, logic in programs or copy members, Database query results, communication to the user interface or other activities, every detail of the application flow is made visible, traceable and understandable. The developer has the choice between a 3270 or a browser based interface. Quality control becomes a simple extended task of the normal application process.
This solution, targetted at IBM CICS development shops, provides a complete task flow environment for transactions without impacting on performance and without the requirement for prior knowledge of the application. It additionally can be used to provide new developers with an easy entry into maintaining, understanding and building knowhow about the application. Also, how CICS functions and how to identify, address and resolve performance and quality issues.

Highway 61 TFR increases the reliability of change management process and the accuracy of Quality Assurance tests. The solution serves as an integral step during deployment of application changes. Developers and quality assurance professionals can record their transactions before and after the change, and then use Highway 61 TFR’s Diff tool to compare program execution flow of the two versions. This comparison ensures that changes in the program event list are exactly what they were expected to be. Highway 61 TFR may also serve as a full-scale activity logger for sensitive transactions.
