Film techniques
Establishing shot – A shot that helps to set the scene it helps the
spectator locate him or herself within the narrative of the film.
Close up – A shot taken from close up showing detail of the subject.
Two shot – A shot that contains two subjects.
High angle shot – When the camera is located from a high point and looking downwards. It makes the subject look small.
Low angle shot – When the camera is located at a low point and is looking up.
Reaction shot – A shot in which someone is shown reacting to another's action or words.
Crane shot – A shot taken by a camera from a crane.
Birds eye view – A shot looking directly down on the subject or subjects
Trunk shot – This shot is used when one or more characters need to retrieve something from the
ground or somewhere low. Also used to make the characters look large or impressive.
