Mark Allocation ?
You will be allocated marks as follows but bear in mind that each paragraph you write will count for 5 marks doing P.E.E.C:
4 marks for the introduction, 4x5 marks per paragraphs:
Point: 2 marks Explain and Evidence: 2 marks Criticism/Evaluation: 1 marks
Minutes ? The structure of your exam is as follows:
1x 8 marks, 1x 16 marks, 1x 24 marks, 1x 52 marks.
For your 24 marks question, you will need to give yourself 25 minutes to answer this question.
Sides of writing ?
You will be expected to write two full sides of A4.
Structure ?
You will need to have four paragraphs which are equal in size, you must ensure that your paragraphs are similar in density.
For this question, you will need to use the P.E.E structure which Point, Explain, Evidence, Counterargument/Criticism.

1. You should start with an introduction where you will define the key terms and identify if the proposition comes from a certain perspective.
2. Main body should comprise of the main body of the essay where you will use PEEC x 4.

3. Typical evaluation points can be as follow: People may choose whether or not to accept the attempts to
socialise them (interactionist approach), Society is multicultural and socialisation may vary in different
cultures, Identities are fluid in postmodern societies and it is generally
difficulty to generalise about patterns of socialisation, Socialisation involves various agencies and one cannot be
studied without considering the others.
Group Task You will be split into 4 groups and each be allocated one of
the question on your handout. In your group, you will be required to plan your answer to the
question which you have been allocated – remember that any of the 4 questions could come up on your test Thursday/Friday.
