Fairfield's Independence Day parade will be held at 9 a.m. on Saturday, July 4th. Just a reminder than anyone can join in on the fun!

PLEASE NOTE THERE IS A NEW ROUTE THIS YEAR beginning at Ault ES and ending at Salyards MS: Parade floats may begin lining up at 8:30 on Maple Village Drive in front of Ault ES, left onto Chappell Knoll, then follow the circle onto Fairfield Park Drive, left onto Fairfield Green and ending at Salyards MS. This new route is directly related to safety by getting our parade traffic off of Mason.

The order of the parade will be:• None other than our very own Fairfield Volunteer Fire

Department leading,• Boy Scout Troop #533 presenting our colors,• Grand Marshall,• floats that include Fairfield organizations, businesses, and

residents,• motorized vehicles that include golf carts and four-wheelers

(line-up in parking lot closest to Vintage Falls Drive),• bicycles, scooters, and skateboards (line-up in parking lot

closest to Vintage Falls Drive), and

• pedestrian traffic (line-up in parking lot closest to Vintage Falls Drive).Please note it is imperative for everyone to stay in the

order above. In years' past, four-wheelers, motor scooters, and bicyclists have ridden ahead causing a safety issue for parade participants as well as spectators (think small children running to retrieve candy). We ask that everyone help with keeping all participants in line so no one gets hurt on this wonderful day of celebration. Also, no water guns, please.

What we still need?• A Grand Marshall - we would love to feature an active duty

female Fairfield resident this year!• YOU! The more the merrier! You can just be a group of

neighbors that want to get together and have some fun on the 4th to make a float but we also need our neighbors to watch all of the fun.

• Let's paint Fairfield red, white and blue by wearing your patriotic gear and putting your American flags out!

• Please be considerate and help us pick up any trash from the festivities.

Independence DayPARADE

Many communities are ripe targets for solicitors – for a variety of reasons. While the Association has no real control over soliciting activities, we have tried to discourage solicitors from marketing in our community by placing “no soliciting” signs in common areas. The reason that we cannot prevent soliciting is that the streets and roadways within the community are public access ways owned and maintained by the county. This means that no person or persons may be prevented from entering the community. Of course, if an individual or individuals are in the process of breaking the law, the Sheriff or other law enforcement officer can take immediate action. Your Association recommends the following actions that every owner can take to discourage unwelcome soliciting in the community:• Report all suspicious persons to the Sheriff’s Department and

request the deputies on duty be made aware of your concerns.

• Promptly remove all flyers left on your front or garage door.• Promptly report to the Post Office all flyers left on the mailboxes.• Refuse to make use of solicitors’ offers and refuse to patronize

any company being marketed in this manner.• Notify the managing agent of any companies presently soliciting

so that letters can be sent advising them of this policy of not permitting door to door soliciting (they will be reminded of the community newsletter and/or the Green Sheet as marketing options).

• Individual homeowners have the ability to place a small “No Trespassing/No Soliciting” sign at the entry to their homes. Should a solicitor continue to leave flyers, the homeowner then has the authority to file charges against the Solicitor/Company for trespassing on private property.

OUR JULY BUS TRIP PLANS ARE FOR: Friday, July 31st for our annual ball game trip.Yes, this is our tenth annual trip to see the Houston Astros. They’ll be

playing the Arizona Diamondbacks on Friday July 31st. The Astros won the opener on Monday April 5th and many are saying that this is the Astros’ year.

The tickets are $31.00 dollars this year, but we can have seats in our same section as last year, with easy entrance and exit to the doors and to the bus. We’ll have Section 152 with seats in rows 10 and 11. All the tickets cost more this year with the cheapest seats at Minute Maid costing $20.00.

July 31st is Biggio Hall of Fame Weekend – With Free Biggio Bobbleheads.Also Friday Nights Come With Fireworks – This Year’s Musical Theme:

Divas.The cost of this trip is $31.00 plus the cost of your meal at Cleburne

Cafeteria; it is where we've had dinner when we go to the ballgames. Remember, Cleburne's does not take credit cards, just cash or checks.

delightful evening theatre trip. We will be going to the Uptown Theatre at Lambert Hall in the Heights to see the Comedy “NUNSENSE”.

We will have dinner before the show at the Spaghetti Western Italian Café. Remember the old “Spaghetti western” movies? There are a variety of menus choices besides pasta. The restaurant accepts credit and debit

cards and cash. No Personal checks.The cost of this trip is $22.00 plus the cost of your meal at the Spaghetti

Western Italian Café.Payments need to be received by August 1st, as we need to purchase the

Tuesday, July 14: Game Night at the Cooks’ House.It starts around 6:30 p.m. Just bring a snack and a healthy appetite. This is

Thursday, July 23: Game Night at Lakeside Trails Club House.It starts around 6:30 p.m., and we have plenty of room at the club house.

We would like to see you there to enjoy an evening of games and fellowship with us. Just bring a little snack and plan on having lots of fun. There are some card games, some games that the members bring and, of course, dominoes.

Carmen & Ashley Find their Forever Family

John and Sandy have been foster parents since 2000. In 2013 they decided to foster ONE more time. In September 2013 they got a call asking if they would take in a sibling group of 5 girls...3 month old twins who were three months premature, a one year old, a two year old and a three year old. Without hesitation the answer was yes. The three older siblings went to a family but the twins, Ashley and Carmen, came to john and sandy. After months and months and rights were terminated John and Sandy were asked if they were willing to adopt the twins. Although John and Sandy were only going to FOSTER one more time, there was no hesitation, the answer was YES. Now John and Sandy are blessed and proud to call these sweet angels their FOREVER FAMILY!!!

The Cy-Woods Crimson Cadettes Drill Team will host their 10th annual dance clinic for K – 12 from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on August 11 – 13. This is a major fund-raiser for the Cadettes and enables them to participate in activities throughout the 2015-2016 school year. The 7th Annual Cy-Fair Women’s Expo sponsored by Three20Three and Cypress Fairbanks Medical Center Hospital, once again proves that a woman's best friend is jewelry; Kendra Scott Jewelry, of course! Purchases of Kendra Scott Jewelry at the Cy-Fair Women's Expo allowed a portion of the proceeds to go right back into the community by helping to fund the CYFEN Scholarship Endowment through the Cy-Fair Educational Foundation.

Benefitting the Adam J. Skinner Memorial Scholarship FundThe Cy-Fair Houston Chamber of Commerce invites the community

to its 17th annual FORE Cy-Fair Golf Tournament at Blackhorse Golf Club on Tuesday, September 29.

The tournament benefits the Adam J. Skinner Memorial Scholarship Fund of the Cy-Fair Educational Foundation. A scholarship has been established in his memory and the Chamber has contributed more than $94,000 to date to the endowment.

Player registration will begin at 9:00 a.m. A putting contest and the opening of the driving range will follow at 10:00 a.m. Shotgun start will be at 11:00 a.m. with the awards, dinner and raffle at 4:00 p.m.

“This tournament continues to grow each year and provides a great networking opportunity for businesses in the Cy-Fair community,” Leslie Martone, President of the Cy-Fair Chamber of Commerce said. “This event brings those who do business in this community together to raise funds and awareness for a great cause.”

The tournament is underwritten for the fifth consecutive year by Texas Emergency Care Center of Cypress. Returning for its second year as the CFISD sponsor, which includes the opportunity to play with the CFISD Superintendent, Dr. Mark Henry, is Bay-IBI Architects.

The True Texan sponsorship is still available and offers the opportunity to play with Larry Dierker and Bill Brown. This $5,000 sponsorship will receive two team entries, four hole sponsorships, a tournament
