The New Birth
My bone marrow transplant doctor said to me on Aug. 16, 2013, this is your new
birthday. I smiled and said ok. Well, on Feb. 26, 2013 the light bulb finally came
on. I’m not this slow on most things. They gave me four days of high dose chemo,
killing cancer cells and my immune system, and then planted my sister’s stem cells
in me. So, he said you have a new birthday; you have started over. Well, I need to
ask does that mean I go back home and let someone take care of me for 18 years.
Anybody want me? I’m now six months old but I’m tall, dark and____!
Jesus our Lord said in Jn. 3:3-5, most assuredly I say unto you, unless one is born
again he cannot see the kingdom of God. Nicodemus said to him, how can a man be
born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be
born? Jesus answered, most assuredly I say to you, unless one is born of the water
and the Spirit he cannot enter the kingdom of God. Since we must enter the king-
dom of God to be saved the new birth is important. Mk. 16:16 says, he that believ-
eth and is baptized shall be saved.
These two present the same idea, he that is born of the spirit is the same as he that
believeth. He that is born of the water is the same as he that is baptized. What do
I do with all of this? I must Hear the word of God, Mk. 12:29-30, then Believe
Rom. 10:17, Repent of my sins Acts 2:38-38, Confess Rom. 10:9-15, be Baptized
Matt. 28:18-20. Start over today we will help you.

”A Better Story: Project One”
The Youth Group is collecting new, used, or partially used gift cards for Project One
of A Better Story. The gift card industry is a $60 BILLION-a-year industry. It is esti-
mated that 10-15% of those cards are NEVER used and only benefit corporations.
That's $6-9 BILLION dollars in unused gift cards in the bottom of your purse or
depths of your wallet.
We want to help some local organizations by collecting these gift cards and donat-
ing them to use for supplies, rewards for children, feeding the homeless, and assist-
ing the elderly. It is our guess that everyone in our congregation has one, (if not
more) partially used gift card in their possession that will never be used (C'mon, are
you really going to remember that $0.75 unused Wal-mart card?). This may not
seem like it will make a difference, but that unused change adds up.
There will be teens in the lobby for the next few months collecting gift cards--gas
cards, coffee cards, sports cards, online cards, etc. You name it and we'll collect
them and donate them to a non-profit that can use them. Ask your co-workers, ask
your classmates, ask your family to mail them in. I'd bet we could stop any person
in the world and they'd have a leftover card on them they'd be willing to donate.
Don't worry about the amount, what's left on them, or where they can be used--
we'll take care of that! Please help us make Project One a success.
~Matt

portunity to support our

dessert, drinks and clean-up. All
proceeds go to the accounts of stu-
dents who help. There is no set fee
but your generous checks should be
made to Tampa Youth Missions.
Dessert this week: Greaves, Rozier,
McDaniel.
Thank You…
Have you noticed how
nice the Butterfly Garden
looks? We thank Alex
Squires for trimming back
all of the over-growth and getting
rid of the weeds. Good job Alex, it
looks great!
Background Checks…

Please turn in your information
sheet to Tonia; she will enter the
information and immediately shred
the document (for privacy con-
cerns). Your cooperation is appreci-
ated.
Family Picture Board…
Take a minute, gather your
