working on. Next captain meeting is March 13th.
Coaches’ Comments
Shade Pratt was awarded the Athena Award for Rosemount High School. The last soccer
player to get this was Megan Eul. Congratulations!
On Feb. 15th Coach Adams and Coach Tompkins met with the Captains for dinner and a
meeting. The girls were excited about the upcoming season and mentioned they want to do more
program bonding activities this season. Funds from the booster club have been budgeted to
facilitate these activities. They are starting a Big Sister/Little Sister program designed to match up
a Senior player with a Freshman player for the season. The Captains expressed great interest in
the team returning to Camp St. Croix for a bonding day next season. Coach Adams talked to
Camp St. Croix and it is all set up with them for August 23rd. They will bring Jimmy Johns
boxed lunch and enjoy a fun day at the beach together. The Captains are utilizing Facebook to
reach out to players and keep in touch with the team. They will continue to use this as a source of
communication and a forum for the team to express team spirit and unity.
Returning Player Meeting is planned for Monday, March 14th at 2:20 pm at RHS. Coach
will talk about the upcoming season, schedule, parade, car wash, and other important dates.
Handouts will be available for those who can't make it. It is difficult for the Middle School
players to get to this meeting, so Coach Adams, the Captains and a few other players will take the
meeting to them. The Rosemount Middle School meeting is planned for March 11th at 11:20-
11:45 am. The Scott Highland Middle School meeting is planned for March 16th at 11:20-11:45
am.
Coach encouraged feedback from parents/players in regard to all aspects of the program.
He wants to improve the full scope of the program and give our players opportunities to be great
students, athletes and community members.

fill this role. It was also suggested that this be assigned a point value and
added to the 3D Patch program.)

(approximately $800); Hire a student(s) and pay $30-40 per game or require team
manager to record games
Hire student to prepare end of season highlight DVD (approximately $200)
More research is needed to see about hiring someone.
Maureen is still researching this. She has an idea of a student that may be able to do
this but needs to get in touch with him. We want to do this so parents can enjoy the
game rather than recording it. Also, Coach is getting several requests for film for
college coaches and players looking for tape to send to possible colleges. After
talking to this lead, we will come back to a discussion about possibly purchasing
equipment.
Player benches for 9th
and 10th grade fields – check with woods program at RHS to see if
they will build benches The instructor of the woods program said they could build
the wood benches. However, we have concerns about permanent wood benches
being ruined outside. We will instead turn to researching portable ones. Maureen
will look into this further.
New Business
Mark Dean will take over as President for Kevin Newman
Carla Grausnick will take over as Treasurer for Mark Dean
Relay for Life team and Feed my Starving children was brought up by MKC as possible
team bonding/community involvement activities. The girls have expressed great interest
in Feed My Starving Children. MKC will look into scheduling FMSC as dates are hard
to secure because it fills up fast. This could be distributed via Facebook amongst the
girls. This could also be added to the 3D Patch point list as well.
Summer training may go to a 3v3 type format. Coach Nicole Tompkins is working with
Coach Adams on this. Because so many players are on summer traveling teams, training
sessions have not been well attended in the past. The coaches may start a 3v3 type
format that would be fun and encourage girls to be there to keep getting touches. BFS
would stay the same as the coaching staff has noticed improvement from the strength
training.
This will be the 30 year Anniversary of the RHS women's soccer program. The first
coach of the program is still on the RHS staff. MKC has asked him to help pull some
historical information together to help acknowledge and celebrate the anniversary. The
Alumni Game and Faculty Appreciation Game would be great events to highlight the
former coach and history of the program.
Meeting adjourned at 7:52pm.

Treasurer’s Report:
Mark Dean distributed an updated Treasurer’s Report, checking ledger, and budget. Sandra Knott,
Carla Grausnick and Mark Dean will be added to the signature card for the checking account as
soon as the final checks clear. Treasurer’s Report was approved.
Captains’ Comments
Becca Newman brought picture samples of what the captains have selected for the program t-shirts
(these are the shirts that every girl in the program receives). On behalf of the captains, Becca
asked for additional funding in order to purchase Dri-Fit material rather than cotton. The price
quote she received for 90 of the Dri-Fit shirts is $16.50/shirt. The cotton price is $12.00/shirt.
Last year (2010) we budgeted $900 and spent $975. The 2011 budget is currently set at $1,500. It
was proposed that we increase the budget to $2,500 to allow for 90 of the Dri-Fit shirts for all
players and 80 of the cotton shirts for ball girls and sales to middle schoolers. Motion to raise the
budget to $2,500 for “Soccer Club T-Shirts” line item was approved.
The sweat pants the captains want are Kelly green with elastic around the bottom. However, in
order to get these, they have to order from two different vendors (one online and one on paper).
Becca asked if this would be more complicated. Deb Halterman said this could be confusing for
the players/parents. The group agreed and decided that they should stick to one vendor rather than
add a second. Therefore, the sweat pants will only be offered in Kelly green without the elastic
around the bottom.
Relay for Life, June 24th
. The Captains want to make this option available and see if there is
enough interest. Coach Adams will add to the 3D patch point system to encourage participation.
Coaches’ Comments
The Section changes have been made by the MSHSL. We are still in Section 3. St. Paul Highland
Park has been added to Section 3 and Farmington has moved out. Farmington wanted out of our
contract to play them during the regular season as a result of this change. Coach Adams released
them from the contract and has booked the International School of Minnesota from Eden Prairie in
their place. This game is on September 1st at 5:00pm at our home field. ISM only has a Varsity
team, so our freshmen, sophomore and JV teams will not have a game to replace Farmington.
The Scholarship committee met Monday, April 4th
. Three recipients were awarded $500
scholarships. The recipients chosen were: Sarah Scinto, Megan Duffy, and Hannah O’Donnell.
Congratulations to all three of these girls!
Coach Adams and Coach Tompkins along with the captains took their road show to RMS and
Scott Highland Middle School this past month. 25 girls attended the RMS meeting and 8 girls
attended the Scott Highland meeting. There were over 40 girls that marked soccer on their student
interest sheet during freshman registration. This indicates that we should once again have 2
freshman teams for the 2011 season.
The April 17th
player/parent meeting is set for 3:30-5:00. The captains will be adding their
comments and ideas about program chemistry through a mentoring program. Each varsity player
will be assigned to a freshman player to give the younger kids a mentor to help them acclimate to
the program and school.

Grausnick as Treasurer.
Kris Hanson will get in touch with Bob McCarthy regarding game film. He currently
films the Varsity Football games. She will report back next meeting with information
from him regarding equipment, prices, and if he or anyone he knows would be interested
in doing our Varsity games.
Player benches for 9th
and 10th grade fields – Coach Adams said two, six-seater benches
have been ordered.
Coach Adams confirmed that the summer training will consist of a once per week 4v4
scrimmage format instead of foot skill training which was done last year. This is due to
the fact that most or all of the girls are getting this type of training through their summer
teams and/or clinics. BFS is still highly encouraged.
This will be the 30 year Anniversary of the RHS women's soccer program. The Alumni
Game and Faculty Appreciation Game would be great events to highlight the former
coach and history of the program. Wally Hartsburg was the 1st women’s soccer coach at
RHS. Maureen is going to start organizing an agenda/plan with him for this.
New Business
Fundraising Buy-Out Program – Mark Dean will do more explanation of this program at
the parent/player meetings this year. It will be a similar format to last year allowing
parents to “buy out” of the fundraising rather than have to sell a minimum amount of
wreaths. Last year there was some confusion when less than 10 wreaths were sold and
the difference needed to be made up with a partial buy out.
Phillip Kemnic suggested that we consider adding a page in the program for senior
recognition. Because of the time constraints when putting the program together (2 weeks
from when pictures are taken and the program is needed for the first game), we have not
been able to do this in the past. Phil suggested that this piece of the program be done in
advance so it is ready before the two week rush begins. Sue Haverkamp will be assisting
Diane Hawkins with the program this year. She will check with her on adding this to the
2011 program.
Meeting adjourned at 8:25 pm.

Carla distributed treasurer’s report, budget detail and checking account “snap shot.” The
budget now reflects the increased spending allotment for the t-shirts as approved in the April 6,
2011 meeting.
Captains’ Comments
Dri-Fit shirts will be available for try on in the next week. Sample orders did not arrive
in time for the April meeting. The purchase process should be much easier this year because
orders will be done on IrishProShop.com.
Becca said she would be willing to take the samples to the middle schools to allow the
incoming Freshman to try on shirts for sizing. Coach Adams will get Becca the contact names
from his visits to the middle schools so she can get in touch with those interested players.
In order to ensure we have the apparel before the season, we will be opening the ordering
up sooner than the August meeting.
July 13th
noon-2:00 is when we are scheduled to serve at Feed My Starving Children. We
will need 56 girls and a couple parents for this event. This would follow the 4v4 practice.
Planning to put together a Relay For Life team. Having a fun group event (cook out,
outside games, etc.) then breaking out in groups to collect donations for the event. Relay For Life
is on June 24th
.
Coaches’ Comments
We had a great turnout (75-90 people) at the parent-player meeting in April.
We have added 2 more teams to the Saturday Scrimmage. Park and Minneapolis South
have asked to be added.
He talked to Coach Floersch about the trophy case. We will share it with the boys and
will have half of the case.
Mike Manning sent an email on 5/3 that the High School will be offering a base line
concussion testing @ $5/player. Coach asked if we can add this to the budget and provide this
service so all our players will have this test done. Maureen will check with Jenna Manship about
setting this up prior to the season for our soccer players.
Committee Reports

shirts for this.
Varsity Scrimmage. Coach needs some help with this. Setting up fields, opening school

this season. Bob was able to offer insight on equipment needs, hiring students for the job
and a website the football and boys basketball programs are using to share video. Bob
has graciously offered to attend June’s booster club meeting to discuss his ideas and share
information with us.
Fundraising Buy-Out Program – Coach Adams and Mark Dean will do more explanation

Deb Halterman has been approached with a request for a signed soccer ball for an auction
item at a Shannon Park Elementary fundraiser. Deb has the soccer balls and Becca
agreed to collect autographs from this past season’s Varsity team. The auction event is
on May 19th
.
It was suggested that we change the spring meeting date next year so that the older
players are available to come. Several of these players were gone for soccer tourneys.
We will be making this change next year.

Coach attended the Tea for scholarships. The three recipients of our soccer team
scholarships were in attendance.
Nicole reported to Coach Adams that 56 players have registered for this summer’s 4v4
league. 35 of these are incoming freshmen.
The Chanhassen coach asked to be released from their game on September 12th. We
have replaced this with a home game on September 29th
at 7:00pm vs. North St. Paul. The
contract has not been received yet, so this is pending until that has arrived.
We will be using one RMS field for the scrimmages. Coach will be adjusting time in
between games to accommodate the distance between fields. We would like a couple tents for
information centers. Kevin Newman said he would work on getting tents.

He brought a sample of the new Varsity warm-ups. He thanked the booster club for allowing this
expenditure from the Capital Improvement Fund.
RAAA camp was very successful. Many players were present to help at the camps. RAAA made
a donation to our booster club for $2,000 in appreciation for the camp.
Attendance at captain’s practice is highly encouraged, but is not required. Coaches cannot have
any contact with the players during this time. Player participation in this does not affect team
placement.
Tryouts are between 9:00-11:00 am and 1:00-3:00 pm the week of August 15th
.
Baseline concussion testing will be done the first Monday of tryouts (after tryouts). This was
funded by the booster club.
Committee Reports Car Wash – on schedule for this Saturday, August 6
th. Still need a few more parent volunteers,
especially during the morning shift. Last year this netted over $2,000.
Program/Sponsors – Sandra Knott and Stefani Stuckey have been contacting businesses for ads
in our program. If anyone knows a business owner in the area, please feel free to connect with
those businesses. There is a form with sponsorship information/opportunities that Sandra Knott or
Kevin Newman can provide for you.
Community Night – David Elliott reported that Tastee will reduce their bun price by 10% and we
can split the cost 50-50 with the boys team. Greg Twaites was in attendance and has volunteered
to be the co-chair with David for this event. David asked if we want to hand out any items/gifts
to the kids in attendance. Mark Dean indicated that these items are good for program PR. The
budget for this event is $1,200 and the group agreed that David could use portions of his budget
accordingly for gift items. Deb Johnson volunteered to take photos during Community Night. If
we are interested in broadcasting the game live streaming, we can have it done for $150. Parents
could then purchase a CD of the game for $10. Mark Dean suggested that the Booster Club
purchase a CD for each player.
Publicity/Street Signs – Deb Halterman mentioned that we should make “RHS soccer game
tonight” signs to have out on the Rosemount streets on game nights. Ann Buck will look into
having these made.
Ball Girls – Deb has reached out to In-House and Dakota Rev to reach out to the younger kids to
serve as ball girls. Deb Halterman and Brian Fahey-Bleick co-chair this committee.
Concessions – For the 20th
, Maureen can get the concession coordinators into the kitchen. We
will still need a few coolers. Teams will be coming in around 9am. Coach will be here around
6:30-7:00am to start setting up. Concession coordinators could use some help from volunteers
(could use about 10). Arrival time for volunteers would be 7:00am. Any help from parents would
be appreciated. Amy Billings and Kelli Heitkamp co-chair this committee.
Wreath Sales – We are going to go with Gertens this year. They should have pricing available in
the next couple weeks. Carla Grausnick, Diane Hawkins, Sandra Knott and Kris Hanson co-chair
this committee.
Alumni Game – Brian Fahey-Bleick is the coordinator for this event next year. We had about 14-
15 alumnus that came to the game this year. In the future we will offer this to returning varsity
players and 1 other player that they invite.
Duluth Trip – Deb Halterman said plans are on track for the Duluth weekend.
Teacher Appreciation Night – Maureen is contacting Lori Mallory as a possible chair for this.
Old Business
Jeff Hanson spoke with coach Erdmann regarding iHigh.com. We can use this to stream
games and post highlights. The board voted to allow Brian Fahey-Bleick to research and
purchase a video camera for taping the Varsity games. We will start with this step then
can re-visit the streaming piece at a later time.
Phillip Kemnic sent out an email out to the 16 senior parents requesting a digital photo
and message to be printed in the program. He’s still waiting for a few pictures.
Maureen has contacted Jenna regarding the concussion baseline testing scheduling. Our
testing time is Monday, August from 3:00-6:00pm, after try-outs.

then sophomores, etc.

Carla Grausnick was not able to attend tonights meeting. Sandra Knott announced that if anyone
has reimbursements that they need a check for they can turn it in to her tonight and she will pass
on to Carla.
Captains’ Comments
Shannon Carroll reported that about 70 girls attended captain’s practice this fall. There was good
energy and good opportunities to meet all the girls. The Duluth trip was a success! The captains
organized tie dye and other activities to keep girls together. Camp St. Croix was also a great trip –
all the girls are getting along well and have enjoyed these bonding experiences.
Sandra Knott announced that Old Chicago has donated pizzas for 2 different groups of 20-22. She
asked if the captains want to organize these outings and possibly a bowling night. Maureen Kelly-
Carroll suggested that the top wreath sales teams should get the pizza nights as an incentive. The
board agreed that this would be a great idea too.
Stefani Stuckey reported that Ole Piper donated $200 worth of pizza as well. It was suggested that
the underclassmen teams have a pizza party in the student center at RHS then attend the Varsity
game together. It was agreed that this will be planned for September 13th
. Maureen will reserve
the room; Stefani Stuckey and Shellie Wilson will organize this. Teri Lemke will pick up the
drinks for all teams. The cost of the drinks will be split and paid from the team budgets. Players
should wear their RHS soccer shirt in order to get into the game free.
Coaches’ Comments
Coach Adams reported that he will need a 10 day notice between the end of the season and the
team banquets. He needs some lead time to order plaques.
The mentor program is new this year and is up and running. He has heard some feedback that the
younger girls are enjoying the connections with the older girls. There is a Freshmen game on
September 15th
in the stadium. They will mix up the teams and have a scrimmage. Jeff Smith will
announce the game, replicating the feel of a Varsity game. In future years, we will try to schedule
this when Varsity does not have a game so they can support the teams as well.
Memory book for the team is being organized by Anne Marie Riley. Parents of Varsity should be
preparing to provide pictures, etc. to put this together.
Coach spoke to Brian Fahey-Bleick. The camera commitment will be $1500-$1700. The video
streaming will be a secondary goal.
Committee Reports Program/Sponsors – Sandra reported that there are about 15 businesses that we are waiting on
checks from. They collected about $6500 this year from businesses. Fireside has offered us a
fundraising option where patrons can mention that they are there for RHS Soccer and 10% of sales
would go to our booster club. We can choose an entire month for this fundraiser. Sandra will
pursue this and select a month.
Diane Hawkins reported that the program printing totaled over $1500 and the Ideal printers said to
pay what we could. We will discuss payment for this in New Business section.
Community/Homecoming/Senior Night – Seniors and parents will be announced after the girl’s
game & before the boy’s game. The boy’s team parents will arrive by 4:30 to start grilling and
preparing concessions (David Elliott will be picking up the buns). The girl’s team parents will
provide this same service during the boy’s game. Soccer Express has donated gift cards for the
kid raffle. Two autographed Varsity posters will also be given as prizes. It was suggested that
kids get their hand stamped after registering for the raffle, etc. Maureen will laminate a boy’s
team poster and a girl’s team poster to hang on the fence for during the game. We will utilize the
PA system to congregate all the groups (teams, seniors, etc.) when announcements need to be
made.
Publicity/Street Signs – The A-Frame signs are a success. Newman’s have been putting them up
on game day. Yard signs are done and will be distributed to team parents by Ann Buck.
Concessions – Volunteers have been difficult to come by. Amy said next year she plans to assign
game nights to specific teams. Then those team parents will be responsible for filling those spots.
Teacher Appreciation Night – teachers will be announced with the girls after the game (before
the boys game). Maureen will let players know if their teacher RSVP’s that they cannot make it.
Old Business
The board voted to allow Brian Fahey-Bleick to research and purchase a video camera for
taping the Varsity games. We will start with this step then can revisit the streaming
piece at a later time. The estimated price for this would be $1500-$1700 to get
equipment. This will be ready to go for next Tuesday night’s game. A motion was made
to approve up to $2000 for recording video equipment. Motion was approved.
Phil Kemnic sent out an email to the 16 senior parents requesting a digital photo and
message to be printed in the program. Update: Phil received photos and messages from
all seniors. The final document was emailed to the Program Coordinators and added to
the Program.
Concussion Base Line Testing was performed on Monday, August from 3:00-6:00pm,
after try-outs. It was suggested that this be scheduled next year on an evening that
doesn’t overlap with Freshman Orientation.
A motion was made to approve payment of the A-Frame street signs which were
approximately $1100. Motion was approved.
New Business
Review “Template” from Greg Twaites. We will use this packet of information he
compiled as a template for future teams. This is excellent information – thanks Greg!
Fundraising Updates:
o Wreath Sales – Sales end on September 22nd
. Checks should be made out to
RHS Girls Soccer. Phil Kemnic needs electronic copies of the letter and sales
sheet for the website. Once on the website, Phil would like us to initiate an
email out via list server in case families have not yet received their packets.
Only 2 weeks left to sell! Included in the list serve email will be the
announcement that the top 2 selling teams will get an Old Chicago pizza party.
o Choice Loyalty Program – Kris Hanson has cards for meeting attendees that
would like to sign up for the Choice Loyalty Program. Phil Kemnic has drafted
a letter announcing the program. Copies are at the meeting for review. The
letter was reviewed and can be sent to Nicole for distribution via list server.
Shared Photo Website – team photographers have asked if we have a place to share and
store photos. Two team photographers (Greg Twaites and Brian Kuznia) have created
team photo websites this year. The group agreed that each team can set up their own
picture hosting website and forward the link to Phil to post on the website.
Parent Contact List – We have a contact list for 77 of 87 kids in the program. Phil
Kemnic has updated the contact list format for easier updating in future years.
A motion was made to pay Ideal Printers $650 for the programs. Motion was approved.

Captains’ Comments
Shannon Carroll reported on how fun and successful the Senior/Community/Homecoming night.
She thanked the Booster Club for their efforts in planning the evening.
Coaches’ Comments
Sections will be on Oct 11 and Oct 13.
If we beat Eagan, we could be a 1 or 2 seed. If we get a 1 seed, we could get 2 home field games.
We will for sure have a home game next Tuesday at 7pm. Coach will have definitive schedule by
Sunday night.
Coach will be asking for feedback through a survey at the end of the season. Please take this
opportunity to communicate your thoughts on the program so coach can continue to improve it.
Committee Reports Program/Sponsors – We still have quite a few outstanding sponsor checks to come in. Sandra
will continue to work on this.
Wreath Sales – Our total sales were around $21,000. We don’t have the profit amount yet. There
was 98% participation so far. Varsity had $8,000 in wreath sales. 9 Green had $3,700. JV had
$3,600. Sophomore had $3,012, 9 Blue had $3,029.
Community/Homecoming/Senior Night – Great Job David!! Thank you for all your work!!!
David thanked everyone for their help. We grilled 800 hamburgers! The door prizes were a huge
hit. Three prizes were not claimed, so we drew names. Lindsay Lutterman, Marisa Knott, and
Colleen Sachse were drawn for the remaining prizes. Several of our Platinum Sponsors did come
to the game as a result of our invitations and free tickets to the game. The RMS 7A team came to
the game after their practice. It was a great idea to send an invitation to RMS and need to do this
again next year. David reported that he got a better deal on the buns than expected. The board
agreed to not bill the boys team for half of the buns.
It was brought up that we should really make an effort to not schedule away games for the other
level soccer teams. Coach Adams said they did work hard to make this happen, but it is very
difficult to work this out with conference scheduling.
Publicity/Street Signs – Many commented that they have received very positive feedback on the
street signs.
Concessions – We will have concessions for Sectional Games. Amy will work on getting
volunteers set for this.
Teacher Appreciation Night – Laurie Mallory will take over this committee next year.
Ball Girls – Deb reported that this is going well and has the next week set up.

as a useful teaching tool. This is a work in progress and will be a part of future
discussions.
Shared Photo Website – A Google website called Picassa was suggested as a possibility.
We should consider this or another site for a group photo share site. Sandra will send out
a notice on ListServ that this is an open committee position.
