Getting to know FOSS
stands for “free & open source software” or rather “free & open source systems”
started out as a paradigm for software
now encompass not only software, but hardware, and various other aspects of mundane life
FOSS
the term was coined by Bruce Perens
initially drafted to be used by the Debian Linux community
systems deemed 'open source' allows anyone to look at the source code, or internal design, and anyone can innovate around those systems
