Started with an American named Jackson Haines.
Just before the Civil war a skating and dancing craze swept America.
That is when Haines thought of his ideaIt was called the International style of figure
skating.

In the 14th or 15th century in Dutch somewhere skates were found made of steel and sharpened edges at the bottom to support movement
In 1742 a lieutenant named Robert Jones creates basic moves like spins and figure 8’s
