What’s geography?
• Geography is the study of the Earth’s surface and the processes that shape it, the connections between places, and the relationships between people and their environment.

Location
• Where is it?
Absolute Location : exact position on the Earth.

Longitude
Relative Location : it explains where a place is by describing places near it.

Physical characteristics: natural features of the Earth
Human characteristics: people (how many people live in a place; what kind of work they do…)
Human-Environment Interaction
How do people affect their environment
• How do people use this place?

• How has this place been affected by the movement of people, goods, and ideas?
Regions
• How is this place similar to and different from other regions?
