The Boardwalk Trail
Our main trail, The Boardwalk Trail, takes you througha variety of natural habitats as it skirts around thelake. A great hike to view different wildlife, fromsongbirds to waterfowl to deer. It offers easy skiing inwinter and great hiking at any time of year!
Woodland Walk
This winter-only trail takes you through a maturewoodlot allowing the skier and hiker excellent opportunity to view the activities of winter bird life.

Park Hours:Valens Conservation Area is open year-round from sunrise to sunset, closed only for Christmas Day.
Entrance Fees:Entrance fees are posted in the gatehouse and on coinoperated gates. Winter entrance fees are lower thansummer fees. See gatehouse for rates.
Boat Rentals:Canoe, row boat and kayak rentals are available lateSpring, Summer and early Fall.
Fishing:Fishing is permitted from the 4th Saturday in June untilMarch 31st. Bait is available for purchase in summer.
Food Concession:The food concession is open mid-June to Labour Day.Weather pending.
Campground Store:The campground store is open weekends in earlySpring and Fall and daily in the summer. Camping supplies are available.

Valens TrailsAn All-Season Guide
With eight beautiful trails covering 11 km., runningthrough a variety of habitats, from aromatic Pine forests,towering Maple stands, teaming wetlands to vast openfields, you’ll have excellent opportunities to observeand enjoy nature at its best in any season.
WinterSki along groomed trails, snowshoe anywhere, skate onthe lake or winter camp... there is plenty to do at Valensin the winter! Heated washrooms are available in the picnic pavilionand in the campgrounds.
Spring & SummerA time for rebirth, spring brings new Life. Hike our trailsin the spring and summer and witness this miracle ofnature. Stay for the day or camp for a night - or even aweek...you’re bound to enjoy it!
FallThe most colourful time of year, you simply won’t wantto miss it! There is nothing quite like a quiet walk alongour trails on a brisk autumn day - the innumerableshades of colour will dazzle you as you shuffle noisilythrough a growing carpet of leaves. Be sure to bring apicnic basket along... autumn air always makes you hungry!
Pine LookoutThis trail climbs through a Pine plantation to a
magnificent view of the surrounding countryside. A
perfect spot to watch the sun set, any time of the year!
Maple WalkA short side branch, this trail runs through the heart of
mature Maple forest. Note the height of the trees, and
their brilliance of colour in the fall.
Open Field TrailPassing through hedgerows, reclaimed farmer’s field’s,
and mature Pine plantations, this trail allows
observation of numerous birds and
wildlife in summer; field mice, rabbit
and deer tracks in winter.
Rabbit RunRunning along a hedgerow, this trail
joins the Boardwalk and Open Field
Trails. In spring and summer many
bird species feed and nest in the
hedgerow. In winter, you may spot an actual rabbit’s
run branching from this trail.
Meadows TrailThis trail is a new addition to Valens. It leads you along
a grassy path around the perimeter of four large
meadows. Be on the lookout because chances are good
that you will see deer wondering through.
