From the PrincipAl’s Desk,
It was so wonderful to walk into the gym this morning to welcome a community of students, staff, parents,
grand-parents, and friends of Trenton Christian School. Starting the year with praise and prayer really highlights
what a Christian school experience is all about. This year our school theme, United with Christ: One Mind...
One Purpose.... celebrates how we can make a difference in the lives of others by acknowledging that we are Chil-
dren of God, sharing the love the Father has lavished on us. We can learn from Jesus by His example of placing the
needs of others ahead of our own. This is one characteristic about Jesus that we can and should imitate. We are
never more like Jesus than when we are serving others.
May God continue to guide, protect, and bless the Trenton Christian School community.
PEANUT ALLERGIES:
A reminder that TCS is a peanut
free environment as we currently
have 2 students with severe
peanut allergies. ALL FOOD and
DRINK coming into the school
MUST be peanut free for the safety of our students.
“May Contain Peanuts” statements on the package is
not an acceptable or peanut free.
Thank you for helping to keep our students safe.

SCHOOL NEWS:
Welcome Back Parents to our 2018-2019 School Year:
My name is Aimee Pikaart, and I will be running the gift card program again this year. I would like to take a minute
and encourage you to give this amazing program a try. It is at no extra cost to you and can be a great benefit to the
school, as we earn back a percentage from each card.
Last year was my first year running the program and using the gift cards. I absolutely loved it. I used the standard order
form, decided what gift cards I wanted and whether I wanted them on the 1st or the 15th of every month. The sign up
process is as easy as that. You can order the same cards regularly on the standing order form, which would be pre-
authorized debit or through the regular order form via cash or cheque. I only order gift cards on Mondays (unless it’s a
short week) so please have your order form in by 9am.
Again, I encourage you to just give it a try; I am positive once you do you will love it.
If you have any questions or concerns please contact me at 613-394-1065 or email at [email protected]
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Aimee Pikaart
Our school has been operating a thrift store in the Trenton Town Centre for over 2 years now. God has blessed
us richly and we have been very successful financially and well received by the surrounding community. Various
non-profit organizations have benefitted as well as 10% of our profits are donated back into the community.
Our store is run during the week by a great team of regular volunteers. We are also open on Saturdays from 10
am - 2pm and are depending on the school community to help us work this shift. Each family will be given the
opportunity to serve at the store by being given a Saturday on which to work. Please see the schedule below.
Please be at the store between 9:30 and 9:45 a.m. so that we can be show you what to do before the store opens.
We ask that if you are unable to work the Saturday assigned to you that you please find a replacement or switch
with another family. It is important that your spot is filled as the store cannot open unless at least two people are
there. There will always be someone there to open the store and run the cash as well as instruct you in what to
do.
The store benefits the school greatly and if we all work together each family will only have to serve maybe once a
year. This is a fun and easy way to generate funds for our school and help us serve our community as well. For
further info please contact Henrietta Indewey at [email protected] or 613-475-3436. Thank-you!

is going to be a great year and I look

the Senior Kindergarten classroom. It will
be an exciting week of learning new routines
and getting to know each other.

GRADE 1 [email protected]
A big welcome to our grade 1 class! We
look forward to exploring God's amazing
world in lots of special ways this year and
celebrate how we are united with him. This
week we will take time to get to know each
other and our class routines. A booklet will
go home tomorrow that will explain our
routines and themes for this year. Our
memory work for this week is about the
Bible which is the most important book of
all. "I have hidden your word in my heart
that I might not sin against you." Psalm
119:1. Students should know this verse for
Friday. Students are also asked to bring a
Bible verse to school by next Monday for
next week's memory work. It should be a
verse that they would like to post on our
bulletin board and hide in their heart. We
will learn some of the characteristics of
animals and connect them to insects. We
would like to observe a monarch caterpillar
in our class. Students are welcome to bring
one to school if they find one!
GRADE 2 [email protected]
Welcome to grade 2! It is exciting to start
a brand new year. We will be introduced
to the new theme for the year, United
With Christ, One mind, One purpose
based on Philippians 2:2. Today a package
of information will be coming home with
your student. It will explain the new
routines and events that are planned for
Grade two this year. We will be jumping
right into reading this week with a new
challenge...to become bookworms! I pray
that the Lord will bless us and keep us
close to Him. I look forward to seeing you
at the BBQ this Friday. (SS)
We will also be jumping right into our first
Creation Studies unit: All Creatures Large
and Small with a focus on Reptiles and
Amphibians. I am excited to learn and grow
with your student as we discover what it
means to be United With Christ! (RA)
GRADE 3
Welcome to the start of a new school year! I am excited to be at TCS and look forward
to meeting the people in this wonderful
community. Our theme this year talks about how we are united with Christ - we will
spend some time as a school and class
unpacking and exploring that statement and
applying it to our lives. Some more details about our classroom schedule will be
making its way home over the next few
days. Our memory work for this week and next
week will be our theme verse, Phil. 2:1-2. A
copy will go home with the students. We will not have any spelling words this week.
I looks forward to meeting you at our BBQ
Friday evening! I will be in the Gr. 3
classroom starting at 5:00.
GRADE 4/5 [email protected]
Welcome to school! I look forward to
getting the academic year started. Our
theme this year is based on Philippians 1:1-
2, it is scripture that emphasizes unity with
Christ and his followers being of one mind
and one purpose. I am excited to unpack
this scripture together with grade four/five
and put it into action. We have also
established a few school wide learning
targets this year that build on our theme
verse, you will see them posted around the
school. A detailed letter will go home later
this week outlining our daily schedule,
classroom routines and expectations.
Thank you for entrusting your child to me
as their educator and to the TCS
community, your child is a true blessing.

that students and their families had a
recharging and exciting summer break and I
look forward to getting to know each of
you and working hard together this year.
Our theme for this school year is “United
