Homebuyer Assistance ProgramFirst time homebuyers who qualify based onHUD Income Limits per household size mayreceive up to $14,999; or up to $20,000 indown payment and closing costs.

The amount of assistance will be dependenton sales price and loan amount from thelender. For a list of approved lenders visitFortWorthTexas.gov/neighborhoods

A financial subsidy is available in the form ofclosing costs and down payment assistancefor homes purchased in the FortWorth city limits. There are two ways thesefunds may be utilized.

- 3% of the loan amount for closing costsplus the remainder for down payment.

- or the total funds can be used for downpayment only with no closing costs.

Guidelines to par�cipate in the program:• The property must be located in Fort Worth city limits.

• Applicant(s) must be a first-�me homebuyer(s) or must have not owned a home within the lastthree years. Displaced homeowners may be eligible.

• Property may be an exis�ng housing unit or new construc�on with a complete founda�on slab.

•Maximum sales price for an exis�ng unit is $218,000 and new construc�on is $243,000 as ofJune 1, 2021.

• Government owned proper�es are not eligible for assistance.

• Applicant must qualify for a first lien mortgage from a city-designated lender.

• The homebuyer’s minimum contribu�on of $1,000 or two percent of the purchase price,whichever is less, is required. May include out of pocket expenses such as appraisal,earnest money and credit report.

• The homebuyer agrees to live in the home as their principal residence for five years to receiveup to $14,999 in assistance or ten years to receive over$14,999 in assistance.

• The home must pass a Minimum Acceptable StandardsInspec�on and a City of Fort Worth EnvironmentalReview.

• Two months of reserves will be verified.

• The yearly income for all adults living in the home mustbe at or below 80% AMI based on family size.

• Applicant(s) must be a ci�zen of the United States or alegal permanent resident.

• Applicant(s) must a�end eight hours of homeownershiptraining provided by a HUD-approved housingcounseling agency. Visit HUD.gov for full list.
