Workshop Learning Objectives
This one-day training is based on Dr. Trish Hatch’s latest best-selling text, The Use of Data in School Counseling: Hatching Results for Students, Programs, and the Profession (2014).
Attendees will increase their knowledge and understanding of:
The changing role of the professional school counselor.
The use of data to drive decisions and improve programs and outcomes for students.
The many types of data school counselors use, including achievement, achievement-related, standards and competencies, process, perception, behavior, and outcome data.
How to design core curriculum action plans aligned to standards and academic mindsets.
How to design data driven intentional/closing the gap systemic interventions and action plans.
How to design pre-post tests and other results-based accountability tools.
How to measure, share, and utilize results for school counseling program improvement.
How to report school counseling program results using the Flashlight Approach© and other advocacy tools.

National Trainer Trish Hatch, Ph.D. is the best-selling author of The Use of Data in School Counseling: Hatching Results for Students, Programs, and the Profession (2014), co-author of the ASCA National Model: A Framework for School Counseling Programs (ASCA, 2003; 2005), and co-author of Evidence-Based School Counseling: Making a Difference With Data-Driven Practices (Dimmit, Carey & Hatch, 2007).
