Introduction
All lamps within the Compact HID category are among the most
efficient and environmental-friendly lamps available. They are
characterized by high reliability and long lamp life.
Within the Compact HID category, clear modularity in lamp
types is offered:
• The category of White SON SDW-T, MASTERColour CDM-TP
and CDM-EP can be used the same luminair housing, and with
the same reflector. This category is suited for open fixtures.
Color temperatures can be chosen between 2500 K and
4200K in lumen packages up to 13000 lm.
• The category of MASTERColour CDM-TD and quartz MHN-
TD Pro can be used in the same (closed) luminair with the
same reflector and gear. The benefits of the MASTERColour
CDM over quartz metal halide are clearly displayed in this
category, by offering a 2x longer
service life, very high reliability and a better color quality.
• The category of MASTERColour CDM-T and mini White
SON SDW-TG lamps can be used the same luminair housing,
and with the same reflector. Color temperatures can be
chosen between 2500 K and 4200 K in lumen packages up to
13500 lm.
• The category of MASTERColour CDM-TC offers a small size
lamp, designed for small size fixtures. It will give the best
performance when used in combination with electronic gear.
• The category of smallest MASTERColour lamp: the
miniMASTERColour CDM-Tm offers the smallest system size in
the market (comparable to halogen capsule lamps), designed
for miniaturized fixtures. It can be used in combination with
electronic gear only.
• The category of MASTERColour CDM-R reflector lamps meets
the size of PAR 20 and PAR30 reflector lamps. The integrated
reflector ensures the best, reliable performance.
• The category of MASTERColour CDM- R111 reflector lamps
can be used in the popular halogen 111 fittings. It provides the
benefits of the MASTERColour CDM technology in
combination with an award-winning design look and comfort
for the shoppers (due to its unique anti-glare shield, as well as
its low heat output). This lamp gives the best performance in
combination with electronic gear.
High-pressure mercury-vapour lamps have been known for a
long time, and are available as combined lamps (discharge lamp
with integral heater filament) and as HPL-N and HPL-Comfort.
These lamps are mainly used for street lighting.
High pressure Metal-Halide vapour lamps represent another area
of the HID range. The HPI(T) lamps are used for industrial
lighting, floodlighting and the illumination of open areas and
sports grounds. The MHD (-TD) lamps, with very good color
reproduction and high power in very small envelopes, are ideal
light sources for precision flood lights in large stadiums.
The SOX-E and SOX low- pressure sodium vapour lamps with
their monochromatic yellow light have the highest light efficiency
of all light sources and are used for street lighting in various
European countries.
High-pressure sodium-vapour lamps SON, SON-T and SON-
Comfort find their applications in street and open-area lighting,
industrial lighting, training areas and floodlighting.Their high
efficiency and their gold-white color are particularly pleasing here.
The top range of these lamps has the “Philips Integrated
Antenna” which virtually eliminates early failures.
