Hurricanes in the Northeast

In 1954 Hurricane Edna started south around Haiti then it started going North. It hit the united states and it didn’t stop there, It was on its way to Canada and it hit a few states in the northeast such as New York, Delaware, Maryland, New jersey, and Pennsylvania.

Floods in the Northeast

In 1982 there was a flood in Connecticut. It happened through 4 days , the weekend of June 4-7. A large low pressure system moved up from the Gulf Coast slowly . Up to 16 inches fell mostly in the south central part of Connecticut. Over half of the rain fall was accounted on Saturday when about 10 inches fell. The flood resulted in at least eleven lives. The flood was disastrous, causing over $230 million in damages. Thousands of homes suffered a wide range of damage.
