What To ExpectBetter SuperVision takes advantage of state of the art training delivery methods by offering a blended learning program that maximizes learning while recognizing the unique nature of the construction industry with multiple worksites in a wide variety of locations. Our core program is delivered on line utilizing the comprehensive first level supervisor training program offered through BuildForce Canada. Once registered to participate in Better SuperVision this on line program can be taken any time at any location that offers internet access. This learning in then combined with three days in the classroom where learners take what they have learned in the e-learning program to a new level through group problem solving and discussion on key learning supervisory issues. Leadership For Safety ExcellenceManaging safety in our industrial construction world is a top priority. A number of key safety topics for front line leaders are addressed in the e-learning portion of Better SuperVision. Additionally Better SuperVision requests that all participants complete the two day program Leadership For Safety Excellence offered through the Alberta Construction Safety Association. “On-The-Job” Coaching Of BSV SkillsAll Better SuperVision program participants will have the opportunity to be introduced to a unique “on-the-job” coaching tool that will help facilitate the real world application of learning. Completion of this portion of the program will also help learners develop competency in the skills required for Industrial Construction Crew Supervisor certification.

OBTAINING ICCS CERTIFICATION
Better SuperVision is an ICCS approved leadership skill development program offered to front line leaders in the building trades sector of the construction industry. Better SuperVision has a proven track record having delivered supervisor training and development for over twenty years with well over 3,000 graduates.
Who Is Better SuperVision?Better SuperVision is a supervisory training organization that is co-owned by the Building Trades of Alberta and Construction Labour Relations – An Alberta Association. Better SuperVision is managed and directed by 16 directors who represent building trades training organizations, unionized contractors, and industrial construction clients. With this grass roots input we offer a curriculum that is relevant and practical for supervisors leading work crews in today’s construction world.
Who Can Participate?If you are a building trades member working as a supervisor or thinking about moving into supervision then Better SuperVision is for you. Better SuperVision is offered to members of all building trades unions and staff employees of unionized contractors. Class size is 12-16 people and consists of a mix of trades so supervisors from various crafts realize the opportunity to learn in a team based environment.
