Dear Friends & Family,
As you may know,
graduated in May
rom the University of
Missouri with a degree
n journalism. During
my me at Mizzou,
got involved with afe changing campus
hurch called The Rock,
which belongs to a larger
ystem of campus churches called Great Commission
Ministries (GCM). Since the day I moved to College
taon to pursue my master’s degree in student aairs
dministraon in higher educaon (SAAHE)* at Texas
A&M, I have been involved with the GCM church here
hanks to connecons I made at GCM’s summer Leadership
raining (LT)* program in Colorado, which I aended during the
ummer of 2010.
t was wonderful to move to College Staon in May and instantly be
mmersed in a supporve community of faith through Fellowship Church. At
ellowship, I am involved in a small group (similar to my Mark Twain Canvas Group at
Mizzou) called Shockwave. This group of 20-30 college students and recent grads have been
wonderful example of Christ’s body to me, helping me adjust to my new life here by serving me
nd coming alongside me as I have grown to know God more inmately over the past 9 months.
ince coming to A&M, I have felt God put it on my heart to go on my rst internaonal mission trip. I have
ever le the country and have only been on one mission trip previous to moving to College Staon. Lord
willing, I am planning to go on a two-week trip to Milan, Italy, May 13-27 with a team from Fellowship.
Our team will be serving a local church in Milan called il Rifugio (The Refuge) through its English
lub outreach, meeting students’ real needs for their careers and lives. Through this club, we wille able to build relationships with students that will open doors to share the gospel.
taly may not seem like a high priority on the missions list, but the truth is that students in Italy are in desperate need of the
ood news Jesus freely gives. Although many students were raised in Catholic families, many have turned away from Christ to
materialism and sensuality to meet their needs, experiencing shallow friendships and broken families. Contrary to popu
elief, almost every student our team has met in previous years is Atheist or Agnostic. Meeting the needs of these Itali
tudents will take a lot of prayer, and we are asking the Lord to prepare their hearts and ours.
Our team also needs your help. Each team member has been asked to raise $2550 to cover travel, food, and supplies
Bibles, materials, etc.) necessary for our trip. I am trusting God to meet this need by providing people willing to invest g
f $200, $100, or $50. $1200 is due by March 15 to cover airline tickets. All funds are due by April 12. I know that for
many of you, money is tight and you may not be able to give much on our team’s behalf. Please know that prayer is need
ust as much as financial support and that every bit of financial help, even $10, makes a difference.
Would you prayerfully consider giving to Fellowship Church and praying to send me on this mission trip? Your partnershi
will help enable me to take the love of Christ to the people of Milan.
Because of His love,
