Se rv ices , was p r e s e n t t o p r o v i d e a d d i t i o n a l i n f o r m a t i o n r e g a r d i n g t h e i r r e q u e s t f o r t h e u s e o f CDBG f u n d s f o r e x p a n s i o n o f t h e Mesquite S o c i a l S e r v i c e s f h c l l i t i e s . Mrs. Toumani l i s t e d the r e a s o n s f o r d e s i q n i n g t h e improve~nents with wide parkways, r a t h e r t h a n wide m e d i a n s , a s f o l l o w s : ( 1 ) the p o s s i b i l i t y of i t b e i n g n e c e s s a r y t o w i d e n Barnes Bridye from a f o u r - l a n e to a s i x - l a n e roadway i n t h e f u t u r e i s remote ; ( 2 ) the need t o s e c u r e s l o p e e a s e m e n t s f r o a a d j a c e n t p r o p e r t y owners i n a r e a s where e l e v a t i o n d i f f e r e n c e s e x i s t w i l l b e r educed ; ( 3 c o n f l i c t s w i t h u t i l i t i e s p r e s e n t l y l o c a t e d i n t h e parkway w i L l be reduced; ( 4 ) t r a f f i c w i l l be p l a c e d f u r t h e r f rom e x i s t i n g houses; and (5) a wider median w i l l i n c r e a s e t h e cost o f t h e storm sewer.
