I. ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES
a. Workshop/Seminars
School of Law in collaboration with The Press Information Bureau, Bhopal conducted a one
day Workshop on Right to Information: Perspective and Challenges on 23rd August.
School of Law organized a one day National Level Workshop on ‘Women Empowerment in
the context of Uniform Civil Code’ on 13th March. The workshop was divided into four
technical sessions which were chaired by reputed personalities from different spheres of
society. Each session had noted academicians, social activists, advocates and post-graduate
students in the form of resource persons. Smt. Santosh Khanna, Editor-in-Chief of the
quarterly journal ‘Mahila Vidhi Bharati’, New Delhi was the Chief Guest of the function.
SOL organised a colloquium on ‘Changing Times & Transforming Lives’ by Mr. Bill ‘Balwant’
Bhaneja, Canadian Diplomat.
b. Ignited Mind Lecture Series
Lecture delivered on Environmental Justice in India with special emphasis on the National
Green Tribunal by Prof. Geetanjali Nain Gill, Professor of Law, University of Northumbria,
United Kingdom under the Ignited Minds Lecture Series on 26th July.
Honorable Justice N.K. Jain (Retd.) inaugurated the Legal Aid Clinic and Moot Court Hall on
4th September. He also delivered a lecture and interacted with UG and PG students.
District Legal Aid Officer Mr. Anuj Chansoriya and other officials from State Legal Services
Authority, Madhya Pradesh visited the School and attended the inauguration ceremony.
Prof. Stephen Woods from Leeds Metropolitan University, Leeds, UK visited the School and
delivered a lecture to UG and PG students.

SOL organized a lecture under the Ignited Minds Lecture Series by Mr. Rajesh Gupta,
Inspector General of Police, M.P. and OSD, Sanchi International University, M.P.
Ms. Jyoti Kiran. Assistant Commissioner, Customs, Excise and Service Tax Dept.,
Vishakhapattanam, delivered a motivational lecture and interacted with UG and PG students
on 31st March.
Mr. Shivendu Joshi, Senior Legislative Executive, Rajya Sabha, delivered a motivational
lecture and interacted with undergraduate students on 1st April.
c. FDP/EDP
Faculty Development Programme for Law teachers and Research Scholars of Madhya
Pradesh was organised on 11th October with Prof. Stephen Woods as the Resource person
whereas Prof. (Dr.) Mona Purohit, Associate Professor, Department of Law BU Bhopal
delivered the keynote address.
Faculty members attended a two day Faculty Development program by Ms. Marie Paul on
'Teaching Methodologies'.
d. Industry Visits
Students of undergraduate course were taken to the Family Court as part of Legal Aid Clinic
Activity.
e. Other Academic Activities
Prof. (Dr.) M.K. Shrivastava, former Vice Chancellor, Hidayatullah National Law University,
Raipur, delivered the orientation address for the first batch of undergraduate students on
16th July.
All Students of LL.M. attended a five day training programme on ‘IPR Issues: Patent Drafting
and Processing of Patent Application’ from 14th-18th March, 2015 at MANIT, Bhopal.
Students of LL.M. participated in a two day workshop organized by NLIU, Bhopal on
'Marrakesh Treaty'.
An Orientation Session on ‘Manupatra-A Legal Data Base’ was organized for undergraduate
students.
A demo moot court competition was organized for the undergraduate students by LL.M.
students as part of Moot Court Activity.
Classes of all batches commenced from 19th January.
Academic audit was conducted by Ms. Marie Paul, Leeds Metropolitan University, UK.
Orientation ceremony was held for all the students entering the second semester.
Synopsis presentation (dissertation) of LL.M. students was held.
Centre for Post-graduate Legal Studies established under School of Law was inaugurated by
Prof. M Sridhar, Central Information Commissioner, CIC, New Delhi.
Classes for first batch of LL.M. (Corporate and Intellectual Property Law) commenced.
II. CULTURAL ACTIVITIES
Mr. Ramesh Sharma, Vice-President of M.P. Ekta Parishad and Senior Journalist delivered a
lecture on ‘Vyaktitva Vikas Evam Vyaktitva Prabandhan’ on the occasion of Hindi Diwas on 11th
September.
International Girl Child Day was celebrated on 10th October along with a round table
discussion for the students with Prof. Woods as the moderator.
Students of School of Law participated in the cultural program at the National Integration
Day event organised by Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS) on 14th January.
III. SPORT ACTIVITIES
Faculty members and students of SOL attended the Jagran Lakecity University Football
League – 2015’.

Prof. (Dr.) C. A. Gurudath participated as a Resource Person in the Conference on ‘Media Law
and Ethics’ organized by Makhanlal Chaturvedi University, Bhopal.
Prof. Gurudath participated in the Inauguration Ceremony of Madhya Pradesh Economic
Association Conference organized by Barkatullah University in collaboration with Jagran
Lakecity University.

A Research Paper titled ‘War Against Terrorism: New Trends in International Humanitarian
Law’ was published in the International Journal of Legal and Social Studies, Volume II (Issue I),
January, 2015.
V. ACHIEVEMENTS/AWARDS
Dr. Yogendra Srivastava has been made a member of the Corporate Law Teachers
Association, Australia.
Students of SOL participated in the Inter-University Debate Competition- ‘The Big Fight' on
the Union Budget, 2015-16. Suji Pillai, student of BBA.LL.B. (Hons.), won the first prize in the
debate.
Students of School of Law participated in the "Pitch" Parliamentary Debate Competition
organized by School of Law, G.D. Goenka University, Gurgaon, New Delhi, NCR. One of our
teams reached to the Semi-Final Rounds.
Interview of Ms. Nidhi Khare, Assistant Professor was published on the website www.
SuperLawyer.com.
Prof. Gurudath judged the final rounds of 3rd NLIU-INADR International Law School Mediation
Tournament at National Law Institute University, Bhopal.
Prof. (Dr.) Gurudath was made member of the Advisory Board for International Journal of
Research in Management.
Ms. Nidhi Khare, Assistant Professor, completed online Certificate Course on ‘Forensic
Science and Criminology’ awarded by the International Forensic Sciences Department of the
Government of India.
VI. MoUs
The School of Law became the ‘Intellectual Partner’ of Global Forum on Law, Justice and
Development, Washington DC (A World Bank Initiative). SOL became the second school in
the country to acquire such status.
The School of Law signed MOU with University of West Los Angeles, United States.
VII. VALUE ADDED COURSES
SOL offers a value added course in ‘Criminology’ to LL.M. students. The course is conducted
under the guidance of Dr. Shobha Bhardwaj.
VIII. OTHER INFORMATION
Parents-Teachers meeting (PTM) was held on 18th of October.
Faculty members attended a Talk Show on Special Efforts for Road Safety and Accident
Prevention by senior faculty of MANIT, Bhopal.
Faculty members attended a lecture on ‘Leadership Awards’ by Mr. Kapil Bhalla.
Students of SOL participated in the 'Cambridge English language Assessment' Seminar.
