JOHN BROWN UNIVERSITY-SUMMER CAMPS 2012
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Siloam Springs, Arkansas (April 11, 2012) - John Brown University will be hosting a
variety of summer camps this year. Summer camp director, Von Eshnaur, and the University is
exctied about the new facilities that the JBU campus has to offer. Such as the new art and
engineering bulidings and the new Bill George arena. There are already 14 camps planned for the
summer of 2012. Those camps include a Volleyball, Basketball, Soccer, Cheerleading, Special
Olympics, the Early registration program (ERP), a Homeschool Christian conference, Leneca
revolution, and a rotary outbound camp. For basketball and volleyball sports camps offered,
there are team camps where schools or competitive teams can come in and work together as well
as individual sport camps where anyone can come to learn the sport of their choosing.
The campus is a perfect atmosphere for people of all ages to come attend one of these 14
camps or host their own individual camps as well. The campus also can be used by business and
organizations looking to have retreats or conventions. JBU can supply meeting rooms, cafeteria,
housing, catherdral, and a fitness center. The cost to use the campus per day is very affordable at
only $16.75 for lodging and $16.62 for all three meals to be served.
If you are interested in attending one of the camps listed above or want to reserve a
weekend this summer, contact Von Eshnaur at the John Brown University Health Complex.

FeatureStory
Every May the students of John Brown University return to their hometowns and
countries leaving the campus they spent the last ten months in. Little do they know that the
campus does not stop moving. Summer camps at JBU have been held for several years; the
univeristy offers and hosts a varitey of camps. Von Eshuar, the assistant womens basketball
coach is also the camp director for the university. He has been with the school for the last ten
years. Some of the camps that are offered are for rotary club members, speical Olympics, Leneca
Revolution, and a homeschool Christian conferience. However, sports camps are the biggest hit
for the university. Soccer, cheerleading, basketball, and volleyball are all offered for schools and
indivduals. The best part about these sports camps is that JBU uses its very own staff and athletes
to coach and help with each camp.
Senior basketball player Britany Hopper has helped with basketball camps the last two
summers. Coaching these summer camps is always one of my favorite parts of the summer. Its
excting to see my team members and I be able to use all that we have learned to influence and
teach younger kids. says Hopper. There are two types of basketball camps offered team camps,
and indivdual camps. During team camps, schools from around the area bring their teaam in to
work on improving their skills, teamwork and conditioning. Kaylee Potter, a sixth grader from
Siloam Springs middle school attented a team basketball camp last summer for the first time. It
was really fun! I go to hang out with girls that play college basetball which is what I wanna do
when im in college. says ambitious Potter.
The campus of John Brown is a perfect location for all sports teams and indivduals to
practice. The Walton HealthComplex has five full courts for basketball including the two-year-
old Bill George Arena. However, the campus has many other facilites for other sports as well.

2012SummerCamps
FeatureStory
There are two full size soccer fields, volleyball nets, four racket ball courts, and an intramural
field that can be used for just about any outdoor physical activity.
The campus offers lodging, equipment and services at a very affortable prices. Lodging is
only $16.75 per day/ per camper, using any equipment or services cost only $4.30 per day/per
camper. Some services that the school offeres for campers, and team are on site staffing, chapel
sanctuary, audio recording, stage lighting, Bynum theater, video set up, small band set up, 8-foot
tables for displays, campus road signs, and sports equipment. Lastly, John Brown provides on-
site staffing, as needed, to ensure facilities are properly setup and arrangements are made.
The biggest push for this coming summer is to involve bussinnes from all over Northwest
Arkansas and the Oklahoma area to use the campus as a place for confereences. In the past, the
campus has only been used for children and teen summer camps, but since the campus has been
growing in lodging and facilities, busninnes can also benefit greatly. Bussiness would have a
wide range of classrooms, and buildings depending on what would fit their needs. In addition,
the JBU campus has a high quality ropes cource that is used for leadership training and team
building.
John Brown University is primarliy a small private Christian college during the school
year. However, the same campus can be used great for summer camps for schools, churches,
indivduals, and now businesses. If you or someone you know would be interested in more
information contact Von Eshnaur at [email protected]
