just sitting there all those year's waiting to be discovered!
A great opportunity to develop this asset into further jewel in our Municipal Crown.
All we need is to realise this Vision and develop into a Tourism destination that will attract visitors from all over the State; Australia and possibly the world whilst being
available for residents in our Municipality to enjoy literally as they wish.
We at Kiama Council can achieve this Vision by driving the project and showing leadership and foresight.

Mission: To develop Jerrara Dam and surrounding area into an “Ecological, Aborigi-
nal Culture and Fishing Park” by maintaining and developing existing Flora, Fauna, Bird life and Fishery, together with construction of appropriate infrastructure to support the Park

Establish an Aboriginal Culture centre & theme
Sustainable Fishing
Maintain and Manage Dam Water Supply

Jerrara Dam location and Wildlife
Jerrara Dam is located between the townships of Kiama and Jamberoo, just
15 minutes from the Princess highway this hidden paradise is full Native Fauna and Flora
ready to be enjoyed by all.

Jerrara Dam Action Plan Publicise and promote the vision and potential of Jerrara Dam as a major asset for Community and as a Tourism & educational facility for Kiama Municipality & NSW
Aboriginal input for cultural centre/shop, arts, craft, dancing/music etc
Involve Kiama Council, NSW Government, Commonwealth Government and Kiama Tourism and Aboriginal Community to support the project.
Seek to have Member for Kiama Gareth Ward as a Champion for project
Kiama Council as key administrative component and support for project is essential support from Jamberoo Community
Conduct and promote a competition to develop both Community support and architectural plans for infrastructure in Park.
Media support to inform and advise the Community of Park’s potential and seek ongoing promotion within the Kiama Municipality and in particular the Jamberoo Community of benefits.
Form a Committee of interested parties to promote the project Commitment of Kiama Council to the project
Seek Grants from NSW State & Federal Governments to provide funding
Develop a Plan for construction of infrastructure improvements
Develop a Plan for Ecological management
Incorporate Aboriginal Culture and Themes in Park
Co-ordinate plans into overall management plan
Plan to co-ordinate funding to meet Parks development
Prioritise construction & environment plans with Funding Monitor and adjust plans as required to meet commitments
Co-ordinate formation of Committee and Funding to start construction
Staffing for facility from local community where appropriate on skill base
Ongoing planning to achieve Park’s opening to public
Opening of Park to involve Kiama Council, Member for Kiama, Aboriginal representatives and Jamberoo Community.

Conference centre to seat approx 100 people (Education/Conference facility) opposite Restau-rant/Kiosk & Cultural centres

Use of water from Dam for Toilets & irrigation (possible pumping to large tank at top of southern hill-gravity feed back to cabins etc?)

Maintenance of Dam water levels to meet statutory guidelines
Administration Committee to include relevant Government agencies
Regular monitoring of all resources in Park
Sufficient Revenue to meet Park costs and work at a Profit
Establish fees & charges for: Day, weekly and yearly rates for access including accommoda-tion, conference and educational seminars.
Incorporate in charges allowance for day, weekend & public holiday rates. Allow discounts for Children and Pensioners
Develop programme for Marketing and Promotion of Park & facilities
Internet and Website for Park (Promotion; Bookings; Visitor connection etc)
Develop relationships with Kiama Council, Tourism, Jamberoo Community & Government
Seek Government grants to establish Park
A link for Jamberoo to provide growth for Township (Eco Park/Jamberoo/Recreational Park).
Establish Park as a Tourism asset for Kiama Municipality; NSW and Australia
Develop an action, information and promotional plan to enable members of Kiama Munici-pality, Kiama Council, Aboriginal Community, NSW Government and possibly Australian Gov-ernment to become part of the Vision and join in partnership to establish Jerrara Eco Park.
