Weldon said she had hoped to

resume live city meetings in July,

but changed her mind after the

recent Hot Spring County Corona

Virus spike.

“I am 65 years old and my

husband is not in good health,”

the mayor said. “So I choose to

adhere to the social distancing

and mask wearing recommended

to minimize the risk of catching

the Corona Virus. I was tested

recently and it came back clean. I

hope never to get it.”

As to work being done for

Malvern since the Covid19 news

became widespread in March,

Weldon said road improvement

projects have continued, sewer

line replacements too and the city

continues to pick up large house-

hold items for any resident who

calls in a load.

whatever you need hauled off in

“We are also continuing to

clean up storm damage, although

most of that is done. There may

be a few trees to be hauled out of

Rioters posing as “peaceful

protestors” nationwide, who have

been tearing down public monu-

ments, now face arrest and pos-

sible jail terms, according to

“tweets” from United States

President Donald Trump on

Tuesday, June 23.

President Trump doubled

down on earlier “tweets” when

speaking with reporters, saying

he will prosecute destructive pro-

testers who try to tear down

statutes after police stopped a

group from toppling a statue of

President Andrew Jackson out-

side the White House Monday

night.

As he departed for Phoenix

from the White House South

Lawn, Trump thanked police for

stopping the destructive protest-

ers — whom he called “vandals,

hoodlums, anarchists and agita-

tors” from succeeding..

“Last night we stopped an

attack on a great monument of

Andrew Jackson in Lafayette

Park,” Trump said, adding that

“numerous people” are already in

jail for destroying public property

and more are going “today.”

Trump has called himself a

“fan” of President Jackson. The

monument destruction nationwide

has been a further step taken by

out of control individuals who

have put an unfortunate blemish

on peaceful protesters who have

been demonstrating nationwide

about reducing or eliminating

police brutality and racism.

American Family Radio,

heard in the Arkadelphia and

Gurdon area, had a Christian sug-

gest this week that not only Black

Lives Matter, but All Lives Matter.
