She was chosen by The WallStreet Journal as one of the "10 Women toWatch in Asia" for her work on the"Womenomics" theme and was also namedto Bloomberg Markets magazine’s “50 MostInfluential” list in 2014. Prior to joining the firm, Kathy was chiefJapan strategist for Barclays de Zoete WeddSecurities for four years and worked at theExport-Import Bank of Japan’s Washington,

DC office for two years. She is a policycommentator for Japan’s Cabinet Office andhas served on numerous Japanesegovernment committees aimed at promotinggender diversity. Kathy is a board member of the AsianUniversity for Women (AUW) SupportFoundation, chair of the Board of Councilors(Japan) of the US-Japan Council, director ofthe Fast Retailing Foundation, member of theCouncil on Foreign Relations, member ofThe Nature Conservancy-Asia PacificCouncil, and member of Keizai Doyukai.
