Congregational ChurchA midnigh t candlelight service will

be held at the Patchogue Congrega-tional church on Christmas eve, withthe Rev. Gerald E. Boyce, officiating.

Beginning at 11:30 p. m. the serv-ice will consist of Christmas music,interspersed with the reading of theChristmas story, and a Communionservice in which everyone is invitedto participate.

Miss Edna Jackson, organist of thechurch , will play a medley of Christ-mas carols and. "Cantique Dc Noel"(Adam) as a prelude. The candle-light processional and singing ofcarols will be led by the young4 peo-ple's choir. A -solo "Gesu Bambino"(Pietro Yon) will be sung by theRev. Mr . Boyce.

The offering to be taken at thisservice will be given to the SummerConference fund of the Pilgrim Fel-lowship. The deacons of the churchwill act as ushers and assist in theadministration of the Communion.

BROOKHAVEN SCHOOL PUPILSGIVE CHRISTMAS PROGRAM

The pupils of the Brookhavenschool entertained their families andfriends with a program depictingChristmas in England, Mexico, Hol-land and Flanders, as well as scenesof the first Christmas in Bethlehemand at Herod's court. The TomThumb band of grades one and twoplayed two numbers, with AnthonyFuoco as maestro. Grades three,four and five did a special scene,with Annette Fuoco as announcer.

The dramatic pieces were given bythe following pupils : Adam Lesz-kowicz, Barbara Cohrs, Lucia Nel-son, Peter Ferry, Dennis Puleston,Karin Zukowski, Jimmy Kinsella,Richard Majestic, Barbara Wneta,Joseph Roy, Linda Gimmell , LucillePolitanski, Raymond Buckley, DavidCornstock, Leslie Nimms, PatriciaBossier, Rofoert Zukowski, ThomasValentine, Arthur Amcll, Jan Ran-ken and Lawrence Cox.

The children of the South Havenschool presented their annual Christ-mas program last Thursday night.After an address of welcome bySchool Trustee Charles Robinson,followed by the flag salute and sing-ing of "The Star Spangled Banner ,"there were selections by the rhythmband. World Peace Is UpTo the Individual,

Pastor Points OutWorld peace was the main topic of

the Patchogue Rotary club's luncheonmeeting yesterday, and Warner En-gler , he.ad of the InternationalAffairscommittee, had arranged a largestand of flags representing the Uni-teid Nations participants. Speakingon the subject of peace was the Rev.Gerald Boyce, of the Congregationalchurch who brought the issue straightto the individual by labeling peaceand war as issues of the soul andstating that it behooved each of usto most properly direct our souls.

The Rev. Mr. Boyce presented ex-tensive figures and statistics con-cerning the costs of war which prov-ed that reason would never controlman 's approach to international or-der. The realAproblem is firmly root-ed in -each one- of as. Onlf throughreligion, Mr. Boyce- emphasized, maywe reach' men's souls and bring sanityto the world.

Eero H. Helin , athletic instructorat the Patchogue high school , waswelcomed as a new member. Attor-ney Robert Pcllctreau made the pre-sentation of the scroll and printedinformation concerning the activitiesof the clu'b.

Members of the Brookhaven Townboard will be taken on a conductedtour of Brookhaven National lab-oratory at Upton, starting at 11 a. m.Wednesday morning.
