Heathrow RephrasedThe development of Heathrow airport has
consistently reshaped the landscape in
which it is placed, dramatically changing
the character of the area over the last
50 years. From its inception in 1944 it
has displaced community and habitat in
favour of a global transportation network
that connects London with the World.

Project: Heathrow Rephrasedone of the think pieces a year (called the tomorrow series
papers) of TCPA (Town and Country Planning Association).
Authors: Duan Juan Li and Andrew David Clare were participant in writing a think-piece on the concept of a Garden City on the site of Heathrow airport. Given the current political and cross-sectoral interest in garden cities,we imagine the article will form a tomorrow series paper which published in Landscape Institute Journal Summer 2012.

Access to Nature- creating networks
between ‘Man and Nature’
Access to Nature is a means of approaching,
entering, experiencing, exiting and
communicating with the world of living
things and the outdoors; which also is all
natural phenomena, plant and animal life,
as distinct from man and his creations.
