MissionThe math department makes extensive use of technology in the classroom. The most common form of technology used is the graphing calculator. TI-83 models are used for display purposes. We also have a classroom set of TI-Nspire calculators that are used for exploration and demonstration. Several classes are taught using the Hybrid model of instruction which uses direct teacher instruction, independent use of content on the computer, and collaborative group work. iPads and applications are used to introduce material, practice skills and create projects such as podcasts and videos.
The Math Department strives to build the algebraic and geometric skill sets that students will require both in life and in their post secondary school education. We provide students with the opportunity to earn college credit through the study of AP Calculus AB and BC and AP Statistics.
