Sister Mary is providing essential care to women and children
Deep in the heart of Uganda, bringing life into the world is often fraught with danger. Evas was 23 years old when she lost her baby boy. Going into labour, her only option to reach the nearest health facility was to ride on the back of a motorbike. Filled with intense fear, Evas’ dream of becoming a mother soon became her worst nightmare. The two-hour journey proved too much, and tragically, two days later, her baby boy was gone.Sister Mary Goretti, a Daughter of Mary, has been running the St Luke Bujuni Health Centre for the past two years. Being the most affordable health centre with a maternity ward in the region, St Luke’s has seen an influx of high risk pregnancies among the many expectant mothers. Sister Mary and her staff are all trained medical professionals, working tirelessly to provide for the many women and children facing dire situations. Yet they are vastly under-resourced.Sister Mary knows that tragedies, like Evas’, can be avoided. To help ensure that expectant mothers and their babies no longer lose their lives prematurely,

St Luke’s desperately needs to expand the maternity ward, build a new children’s ward and provide an ambulance for mothers, children and others in critical need. Please support women and children’s health through Jesus’ life-giving mission today by helping missionaries like Sister Mary reach out and give life.

Loving God,St Luke was animated by Your love in faithfully writing
about the genuine compassion Jesus showed for all people through His healing ministry.
We pray for the staff at St Luke Bujuni Health Centre, that they may continue to have the same love, compassion and care for their patients modelled on the example
of Jesus who treated everyone He encountered with respect and dignity.
We ask that the families who come to the clinic seeking tobe cured from the pain of both body and spirit are strengthened as You hold
them ever so lovingly in the palm of Your hand.We offer this prayer to You our Loving
Creator, through our Saviour Jesus Christ and
