The future of modern colors
The Luconyl® NG range of aqueous pigment preparations by BASF
consists of a broad range of chromophores to ensure that all your
performance and coloristic requirements are met.
Special features of Luconyl® NG include optimum pigment content,
high color strength, narrow specifications and a reduced tendency to
settle out due to improved stabilization. The pigment preparations are
free-flowing, storage-stable and show excellent compatibility in a wide
range of coating systems. Furthermore, our extensive range of products
is suitable for both gravimetric and volumetric tinting purposes.
As well as offering color and protection to the decorative and wood
coating sectors, the new enhanced range of Luconyl® NG products
also includes many more inorganic pigments giving you options in
the coloration of coatings for the construction market.
Luconyl® NG offers other advantages as well. It is the answer to
customers’ current and future demands for environmental protection
offering an odorless product requiring no label under the GHS
labeling regulations (2015).
Bring your coatings to life by taking advantage of this exciting
innovative range of preparations, now extended with a wider
range of pigments to suit all your coatings needs.
Besondere Empfehlungen
Special recommendations
High-pH applications
For high pH applications as for example silicate paints, SRE’s (silicone
resin emulsions) or other coatings (e.g., plaster) for the construction
market, we recommend only the use of our preparations based on
inorganic pigments.
Wood glazes
For the coloration of wood glazes we especially recommend our
transparent iron oxides Luconyl® NG Yellow 1916, Luconyl® NG
Red 2817 and Luconyl® NG Brown 2915 in combination with Luconyl®
NG Black 0060/0061/0066.
Heat management
To offer the optimum in heat management capabilities we recommend
the use of Luconyl® NG Black 0095 either alone or in combination
with the broad range of inorganic products within the new enhanced
Luconyl® NG range of pigment preparations. Utilizing Luconyl® NG
Black 0095 as a replacement for carbon black within your formulation,
heat and total solar reflectance (TSR) can be significantly improved.
Erläuterungen
Anwendungen
Explanation of data
Applications
The applications are divided into interior applications, facade coatings,
silicate/silicone/stucco and wood coatings. The following symbol
indicates the applications for which the individual Luconyl® NG grades
are particularly recommended.
= major use
The indication of “major use” does not mean that the respective
Luconyl® NG grades may not be used for other applications.
Reduction ratio
Evaluated at 1/3 and 1/25 standard depth of shade. The reduction ratio
is evaluated by the FIAF program (DIN 55986). It indicates how many
parts of titanium dioxide have to be mixed with 1 part of color pigment
to obtain 1/3 or 1/25 standard depth of shade. The higher the reduction
ratio the greater the color strength.
Fastness to weathering
Full shade, 1/3 standard depth of shade and 1/25 standard depth of
shade values for Luconyl® NG were taken over from weather fastness
results of the respective pigments. Color change was evaluated
according to the gray scale (DIN EN 20105-A02).
Alkali and acid fastness
Most of the pigments on which Luconyl® NG are based exhibit good
fastness to acid and alkali. Dealing with high-pH (e.g., silicate coatings,
mass coloration of concrete) we recommend the use of Luconyl® NG
grades based on inorganic pigments.
