TheLW08isaradarsystemforlong-rangesurveillance,providingtargetindicationtoweaponcontrolsystems.Itmeetsallvitalrequirementsforanynavalsurveillancesystem:LW08presentsaclearpictureoftheenvironment;itdoesso,reliably,underanycircumstances;anditdoesitwithoutaddinggreatweighttothesuperstructureoftheship.TheaspectwhichdistinguishesLW08fromitscompetitorsisitswiderangeandsuperbaccuracy.Thesystemhasprovenitsworthtimeandtimeagain,operatinginvariousconfigurations.LW08performswithgreatfrequencyagilityoverawideband,duetoitssynthesizer-drivenTWTtransmitter.

Excellentperformanceundervariousclutterconditionsisensuredbythewidedynamicrangereceiverwithapplicationofdigitalvideoprocessing,supportedbycircularpolarization.Moreover,duetoitslightweightconstructionandhydraulicallycontrolledstabilizationplatform,thisantennacanbeinstalledatahighmastposition,therebyimprovingperformance.
