Programme Specific Outcomes
PSO1 Provide adequate knowledge of Sanskrit language.
PSO2 Understanding ancient scriptures written in Sanskrit, Pali & Prakrit. PSO3 Acquire adequate knowledge of ancient Indian culture and society.
PSO4 Gain competencies and professional skills for teaching and conducting research in various fields in
Sanskrit Grammar, Classical Sanskrit Literature, Vedic Literature and ancient Indian philosophy.
PSO5 Acquire elementary knowledge of other ancient Indian languages i.e. Pali & Prakrit.
The entire programme will be of four semesters. Each student should earn a minimum of 88 credits
over the entire programme (Core = 56; Discipline specific course =24; Foundation elective = 2;

Course Type
Core Course (C) : There are Core courses in every semester. These courses
are to be compulsorily studied by a student as a core
requirement to complete the programme in a said
discipline of study.
Discipline Specific
Elective (D)
: It is a course which can be chosen from a pool of options
(A/B/C/D) in Semesters III and IV in concerned
department. It will be supportive to the discipline of study
and mandatory as per course curriculum.
Open Elective (O) : Open Elective Course may be from an unrelated discipline.
It is interdisciplinary/ open elective as per course
curriculum.
However, a student who fails to get admission in open elective (interdisciplinary) will opt a
Special Open Elective paper against open elective in semesters II and III in the department itself.
Foundation Elective (F) :-
The Foundation Elective course is based upon the content that leads to knowledge enhancement. It
