We promise, it wont be a waste of time.
Some models are packaged with the right pedaldetached. We recommend that the right pedal beinstalled along with the initial check of the bicycle.
Tip for Installing PedalsNote the shaft end of each pedal. On theshaft of each pedal will be the letter R

With a 15mm open-end wrench, tightenthe right pedal clockwise. Place the left pedal onthe other side and tighten in a counterclockwisedirection.

Maintenance and Cleaning
MaintenanceDo not perform maintenance or adjustment of the
bicycle or components without sufficient knowl-edge or proper tools. Where necessary, take yourbicycle to a mechanic for repair or maintenance.
Bicycles are subject to wear and tear, as well ashigh stress. Materials and various componentsmay be affected differently. If the lifetime of acomponent is exceeded, it may suddenly fail.Any crack, scratch or discoloration may indicatethat a component needs to be replaced. If yousee signs of wear and tear, address them imme-diately.
Take your bicycle to a professional mechanicfor periodic maintenance. How frequently youtake your bicycle to a mechanic for maintenancedepends on how you use the bicycle, but we rec-ommend you to do that at least twice per year.
Cleaning
When cleaning your bicycle, do not use a waterjet or other high-pressure water hose. Clean withmild soap or detergent and rinse with water.Rinse all parts well and avoid spraying water onparts such as steering box, crank, seat post andsaddle rails. After cleaning, dry the bicycle with arag and lubricate contact points to guard againstcorrosion.
CorrosionTip
One of the biggest causes of caccumulation on bicycle compand sand from the beaches.Salt is responsible for the acceleratiorosion and sand is abrasive (so it wechanical parts). To avoid this, you neyour bicycle every time you take it to

Riding your Durban
Riding During Low VisibilityRiding during low light or low visibility at night,
dawn, dusk or in the rain and fog is much moredangerous than riding during normal light condi-tions. Adults should always use lights, reflectorsand reflective clothing while riding during lowvisibility.
Reflectors only work if they are clean, whole andassembled correctly. Do not obstruct reflectorswith baggy clothes or bags. Moreover, they onlyreflect light in some directions, so you need lightsand other accessories. Ask your dealer for adviceand make sure that the lights you use conform tolegal requirements.
Riding PositionThe best riding position is one in which you feel
comfortable. A bad tted bicycle can lead to backpain or joint pain. Make sure your saddle and han-dlebars are at the correct height and that you canreach the brakes and shifter comfortably.
For most people, the sole of the foot on the pedalshould be positioned directly over the pedal axle.
The saddle can be moved up and down, forwardand backward and tilted up and down, so try tomove it to get the best t. A badly positioned sad -dle can damage nerves and blood vessels.
When riding, your hips should remain stationaryand your knees should extend to between 20 and25 short of the locked position.
The saddle should be parallel to the ground, but ifit is not comfortable, bend the tip down to relievepressure in the groin, or up to distribute yourweight over a larger area of the saddle.
Moving the seat back makes you exercise thegluteus muscles more intensely and works yourupper thighs. In general, the front of the knees
should not exceed the pedal axle. After reaching acomfortable position, check the seat height again.

Using GearsBicycle gears are numbered from 1 upwards,
with 1 being the lowest (lighter) gear. If engaged, the grip shifter on the right controls the rearderailleur. The bicycle has six or seven gears. Thelower gears are used for going slower or uphill, and the higher gears are used for going faster ordownhill. Test the gears in a safe place.
Before riding, go through all the gears and makesure that they are all fully functioning. If gear shif-ting is not smooth, we recommend you consultyour professional mechanic. If the rear derailleuris malfunctioning, do not use the highest andlowest gears because the chain may come off.
Make sure chain and cables are lubricated pro-perly before riding.
Using Quick Releases and LatchesQuick releases hold wheels, seat post, handlebar
and handle post in place. When adjusted proper-ly, the seat post, handle post and handlebars willnot rotate and the wheels will not come off.
Before riding, make sure that all quick releasesare tightly fastened. Lift each wheel and dropto verify that it is tightly fastened to the frameand fork. Gently try to rotate the handlebars andsaddle to check for firmness.
Slightly lift the bicycle and drop to test for tre-mor, shake and stability of the frame (especiallythe latches of the frame and the handle post).
TipTo make your latch adjust to layou can apply a drop of thread
screws used to adjust the latches aftthe optimal adjust. We recommend yLOCTITE 270 or a similar threadlocbicycles
Please take your bicycle to a professnic if you are not sure about quick relatches operation or maintenance.
Make sure the frame latch and handle post latch
are properly adjusted and tightly closed before
riding the bicycle. Failing to do so can result in
injury or death.
WARNING
Do not over tighten the stem bolt, han
handle post quick release or any other
