COMMITTEE ON NUTRITION.-At its first meet-ing on Feb. 15th the League of Nations committeeon nutrition agreed on the general lines of thereport to be prepared, took steps to obtain furtherinformation from governments and national authorities,and appointed a drafting committee which is to meet onMay 4th, before a second session of the full committeeto be held early in June. The committee unanimouslyadopted the report of the Technical Commission (whichappeared in THE LANCET of Dec. 21st, 1935, p. 1434) whichlays down the principles for a scientifically balanced dietfor different ages and categories of human beings. Thisreport is to serve as the basis for a big programme ofresearch work in different countries.
