November Metro Unemployment• Detroit saw the largest year-over year
decline in unemployment, going from 15% in November 2009 to 12% in November 2010. However, that decrease was partially due to a reduction in the overall labor force.
• Chicago and Charlotte also saw over one percent decreases in their unemployment rate s.
• Las Vegas saw the largest increase in its unemployment rate, moving from 12.5% in November 2009 to 14.3% in November 2010.
• Denver, Miami, and New Orleans all had year-to-year increases in unemployment of over 1 percent in November.
