Pre‐construc on design is paramount in deliv‐
ering a project on me and within budget.
Our robust in‐house Virtual Design and Con‐
struc on (VDC) team primarily uses Auto‐
desk Building Design Suite Ul mate™ to de‐
velop and provide an integrated BIM package
that has proven results, such as:
simplifying construc on processes
improving coordina on between differ‐
ing trades
reducing shop and on‐site construc on
manpower requirements
reducing overall construc on costs
We also use Trimble Work Sta on™ in the
field to accurately survey and “design‐on‐the
‐fly” prior to installa on.
Our CAD/BIM systems are digitally integrated
with our touchscreen fabrica on monitors in
each fab cell, thus enabling us to track work
in process, provide just‐in‐ me changes to
design and budget, and organize fabrica on
priori es on‐the‐fly.

EFFICIENCIES BEYOND FABRICATION
We work with industry leaders to provide new and innova ve
technologies to improve fabrica on efficiencies and lower
costs. One such area is innova ve so ware that’s inter‐
operable with Autodesk Fabrica on CADmep 2013™. This
allows our partners to import fabrica on spools extracted
from CADmep™ to virtually lay‐out flatbed trucks while track‐
ing the load’s center of gravity. The so ware also provides
cribbing details in advance so fabricators can build and place
cribbing prior to the pipe spools being placed.
Prior to this technology, pre‐planning and BIM coordina on
o en ended at the fabrica on stage. This so ware extends
BIM coordina on to truck loading, allowing the user to gain
efficiencies in the fabrica on shop and jobsite, including the
elimina on of double‐handling of prefabricated materials. By
virtually laying out trucks in advance, fabrica on work can be
sequenced accordingly and material handling reduced.
Upon arrival at the jobsite, materials can be off‐loaded in a
predetermined order and placed directly in the correct loca‐
on, ready for installa on.
