How Teachers Are TrainedThe teachers have taken three courses to learn how to teach the children’s classes, using training materials from the Ruhi Institute.
How Many ChildrenAs of April 2006, there were 10,312 of these children’s classes around the world, in every continent, with 93,066 children attending. More than half of the children (51,930) are from families that are not members of the Bahá’í Faith. The classes range in size from the children of a single family to those of an entire neighbourhood or village.

Basis“Regard man as a mine rich in
gems of inestimable value. Education can, alone, cause it to reveal its treasures, and enable mankind to benefit
therefrom.”— Bahá’í Writings
These “gems” are the spiritual qualities that are latent in the soul of every person. Children’s classes help the children to discover and polish these gems from an early age and apply what they learn to everyday life.
