the2015schoolyearallstudentsshouldbewearingthenewbrownandyellowshirt.Theseareavailablefromthefrontoffice.Thereareasmallnumberintheclothingpoolifanyoneisinterestedinpurchasingtheseatareducedprice.HOCKEYSKILLSOverthelasttwoweeksourK/1/2studentshavehadtheopportunitytoparticipateinahockeyskillsprogramrunbytheGraftonHockeyAssociation.MrsBakerhasreportedthatthestudentshavehadanexcellenttimelearningtheskillsofthegamewithJoelfromtheHockeyAssociation.TheK/1/2studentsandstaffwouldlikethethanktheGraftonHockeyAssociationandJoelforgivingthemtheopportunitytoparticipateintheprogram.YEARS4/5/6CAMPThankyoutoallthosestudentswhoattendedtheyear4/5/6campatYarrawarralastweek.Fromallreportsmostpeopleseemtohaveagoodtimeandwereabletoenjoythemselvesdespitesomemiserableweather.Idroppedintocamponbothnightsandwasextremelyimpressedtoseethatpeoplewereworkingwelltogetherintheirdesignatedgrouptohelpprepare,serveandcleanupaftertheeveningmeal.Ialsoheardreportsofsomeverytiredandachingbodiesafterthecanoetripandbushwalkbutwasluckyenoughtoseesomehappysmilingfacesandlotsoflaughterduringthesurfinglessons.Photosfromthecamphavebeenaddedtotheschoolwebsite.Thankyoutoallthestaffthatparticipatedinthecampwithoutthemourstudentswouldn’thavethesesortofopportunitiespresentedtothem.ASSEMBLYANDBANDThebandwillbeperformingatassemblyonFridaysopleasecomealongandencouragethestudents.WehavebeenextremelyluckytohavethesupportoftheClarenceValleyConservatoriumandMsChrisEdwardswhohavebeenvitalinkeepingboththebandandchoirprogramsrunninginourschool.Gillwingaiscurrentlytheonlysmallschooltohavebothabandandachoirprogram,bothofwhichprovideexcellentopportunitiesforourstudentstodeveloptheirskillsinthePerformingArtsandparticipateinthemanycommunityactivitiesthatproviderecognitionforboththeschoolandthestudents.PRESENTATIONDAYThisyearwehavebeenextremelyluckytoreceiveanumberofdonationsfromvariousfamiliesandweareveryappreciativeofthisgenerosity.ThisweekIwouldliketorecognisetheWattersfamily(MissWatters)fortheirdonationtowardsprizesforourup-comingpresentationday.CSIINFORMATIONEVENINGFingerscrossedthattheweatherwillbegoodfortheyearthreeexcursionplannedforthisFridaytoYarrawarraandArrawarraHeadland.
