My Dear Ones,
Without authenticity life is not
there. When you don’t listen there is no
verbal communication possible, there is
no authenticity, no mystical communion
is possible. When there is no listening,
communication is not possible; when
there is no authenticity, communion
is not possible. All initiations are the
communion between my inner space
and your inner space. My initiations are the words I utter. All initiations work on you only when there is
authenticity. Authenticity is life.
Be Blissful!

8science meets spirituality
One Of the mOst sOphisticated systems in human body is the brain, and even more sophisticated is the way in which it stores and retrieves information. Every moment, the brain receives a number of internal and external inputs in the form of signals, and it stores them in a particular pattern. How one interprets and assimilates this information becomes a key factor in deciding the quality of one’s life. By changing the quality of one’s memory one can change the very quality of their life.
One Of the leading scientists of the inner world, sage Patanjali, beautifully says, “Anabhuta vishaya
asaam pramosha smruthi”. It means, “The recall of the mental impressions of past events from the subconscious mind is memory.” Sometimes people remember that which is not required; sometimes they don’t remember that which is required. Memory is responsible for all the joys one experiences in the outer world. Not using memory is responsible for many of the sufferings one goes through in the outer world. Memory is also responsible for all the inner disturbances. It becomes important
to see the paradox here: in the outer world using
memory brings comforts, luxury and needed
things, but not using memory brings suffering,
absent-mindedness and disturbance. In the inner
world , using memory brings all kinds
of psychological problems, while
relaxing from memory brings
tremendous joy and peace.
Whenever a thOught arises, without supporting
that thought, without rejecting
that thought, without acting in favor
or against that thought, simply
relaxing from a thought is called
‘unclutching’. Unclutching
from memory in the
inner world brings
tremendous
bliss.
The Science of efforTleSS MeMoryAdapted from Nithyananda’s Yoga Sutra Discourse on 27th March, 2009 at Phoenix, Arizona, USA
9 science meets spirituality
fOr cOnvenience, memOry can be broadly
classified into three different types. The
first kind of memory is “Table Memory”.
It is called “Table Memory” because it is
similar to everyday items which we keep
on our desk. This kind of memory involves
casual tasks like recognizing one’s relatives
and friends, recognizing the place
where they live etc. These files
are directly connected to the
day-to-day activities and
can be recalled without
any effort. The second kind
of memory is the “Cupboard
Memory”. They are like the
objects kept in the cupboard.
One can retrieve
them
as
per their requirements. For example, the
information regarding an old vacation, an
old journey, the name of an old friend are
stored as cupboard memories. The third
kind of memory is “Archived Memory”.
One needs to have a special key to access
these memories. For example, past birth
memories can be remembered by working
with special meditation techniques. If the
table is too overloaded with memories
there is an automatic mechanism which
moves the files from the table to the
cupboard or the archives.
When the abOve cOncept is applied
effectively, it can liberate people from their
psychological problems. Psychological
problems are actually a luxury. One
needs to constantly brood over them to
have psychiatric troubles. Patanjali, an
enlightened master who is the author of
the Yoga Sutras, says, the recall
of mental impressions of
the past events from the
subconscious mind is
memory.
10science meets spirituality
sO hOW can memOry be used effectively
without creating any congestion of thoughts
or other psychological troubles? The best way
to use memory is to use it more and more
when it comes to the outer world. Unclutch
from it more and more, when it comes to
the inner world. This is the sutra, this is the
thumb rule. When one unclutches from the
memories, relaxes from them in the inner
world, tremendous spontaneity and ability to
remain in the present moment will happen.
The more it is used in the outer world to store
and retrieve information, more and more
leadership will happen in a person. Leader is
a person who can handle large amounts of
memory with very sharp quality of presence.
When one unclutches from the memory
in the inner world, tremendous feeling of
security starts happening in them. Only a
person who can unclutch from his memory,
can feel completely secure.
When One learns the technique of
unclutching, the quantity of memory available
and the quality of retrieval both increase
exponentially. For example, the information
which is in many high resolution images can
be saved in a single word document, the size
of which is lesser than the size of a single
image. Similarly if one can store memory
files without emotional attachment, the
ability to store and the ability to retrieve both
are tremendously increased. By constantly
unclutching from memories, everything
is converted into a Word document. By
constantly remembering the past mistakes
guilt is created. But by unclutching from
the past memories, one can assimilate the
essence and experience of the mistakes.
learning frOm the past experiences means
assimilating. Experience does not mean the
number of incidents one goes through in
life; it simply means the number of lessons
learned from those incidents. There is no
need to remember past incidents, we just
need to update and upgrade ourselves from
the past lessons. One can catch this truth by
simply unclutching from memories for about
ten days.
memOry When it is used in the outer world
can bring more and more joys and comforts. If
one can unclutch from the memory in the inner
world, it can bring more and more peace and
bliss. By learning to unclutch one can have,
what Buddha calls, “Right Remembrance.”
Having the right remembrance is Jeevan Mukti
- Living Enlightenment.

The story of Samudra Manthan, or the churning of the ocean, is an age-old tale from the Puranas (Ancient Hindu texts), where the ocean was churned in order to bring back Devi Lakshmi, the Goddess of Wealth.
It all began when the gods had begun to notice the growing arrogance in Indra, the king of the Gods. Devrishi Narada, an enlightened sage or Rishi amongst the Gods, and Rishi Durvasa, another sage who was known for his short temper, decided to teach Indra a lesson by handing this Vaijayanthi Mala - a divine flower garland - to him. The specialty of this flower garland was that it only stayed with the one who has been able to conquer his mind. When he failed, Indra’s ego was severely wounded and he declared that he was as great as Shiva himself. The height of his arrogance angered Rishi Durvasa, who cursed Indra. As a result, the Devas lost all their power and wealth.
As this news spread, the Asuras, or demons, felt that this was the right time for them to launch an attack on the Devatas (Gods), and they planned to do so. They defeated the Devatas and fled with the Amrit Kalash, or the earthen pot of nectar, with the Devatas in pursuit. As Indra and Raja Bali fought over the pot, drops of the nectar fell on the earth. The four spots where this nectar fell are Haridwar, Prayag, Ujjain and Nasik, which are now spiritual centers called ‘Maha Kumbh’. At the end of this fight, the Amrit Kalash slippped from their grasps and fell into the ocean.
Seeing this, Lord Shiva declared that the Devas and Asuras must work together to retrieve the nectar. If not, Samudra Manthan or the churning of the sea is impossible. Thus, both parties reluctantly agreed to work together.
In this way, they began the process of churning the ocean. Lord Vishnu carried the Mandara mountain into the sea, to use as a spindle. When the mountain was placed in the ocean, it began to sink and to balance it, Lord Vishnu took his Kurma Avatar, the form of a tortoise with the mountain balancing on his shell. Lord Shiva summoned Vasuki, the king of serpents, to be used as a rope to churn with. They began churning, both parties pulling and pushing at their ends. Before long, the ocean began to give out poison which was so toxic that it could destroy all of creation.
Seeing this, Lord Shiva entered the ocean and began to drink all of the poison. Before the poison passed His throat, Goddess Parvati put her hand on His throat to hold it there, and promised to reside in Shiva’s throat by supplying her Shakti or strength, so that the poison would never leave it. The poison vanished from the ocean after this, rendering it pure once again.
The Churning of the Milky Ocean
13 vedic renaissance
On further churning, the ratnas or treasures began to
emerge from the ocean. As these Ratnas were being divided
among the two parties, some Asuras ran away with the Amrit
Kalash. Then, Lord Vishnu took the form of Mohini, a beautiful
woman, and distracted the Asuras. He took back the Amrit Kalash
and the nectar was distributed among the Devas.
The real question is the relevance of this story in an
individual’s life. Disciples always get jealous of the status that
the master holds, not the state. By seeking the state, they
can achieve the status as well. This is the case with Indra and
Shiva. Narada is the prayer required when one realizes that
he needs something beyond himself to achieve this state.
The Devas are the positive thoughts and the Asuras are the
negative, depressive thoughts that arise in each person. The
technique of unclutching from both of these is the spindle,
the Mandara mountain. The balance for this technique is the
Master or the tortoise. When churning happens, both thoughts
pull the individual consciousness, Vasuki, in two directions. The
tiredness and depression emitted out is the poison. These come
out of the individual’s system and the compassionate master, or
Shiva, swallows it.
So, a seeker needs nothing but patience. Only with
patience can he continue his spiritual journey and receive the
various ratnas that follow the poison, and in the end, receive
the Amrit Kalash, or Moksha. This patience is tyaga, the sacrifice
of one’s time, and not material possessions. Blessed are those
who have both the master and the patience.

Makar Sankaranti, also called as Sankranti,
Pongal and Uttarayan, is a Hindu festival that is
celebrated all over India on the 14th or the 15th of
January (in the case of a leap year) every year. This
festival marks the transition of the Sun into the sun sign
of Capricorn on its celestial path. The other significance
of this day is that the chill of the winter starts declining
thus marking the beginning of the harvest season. It
is a major harvest festival celebrated in various parts
of India. In the states of Northern and Western India,
this festival is celebrated with special zeal and fervor.
Thousands offer their gratitude to the sun in the form of
colorful, beautiful kites. Delicious sweets and savories
are prepared and distributed among the near and dear
ones. Cock fights are also held in the rural and coastal
areas to mark the significance of this day. Millions take
a dip in the sacred river Ganges and pray to the Sun
God. It is also a day to honor, worship and pay respect
to Devi Saraswati (the Goddess of Knowledge). Since this
festival is celebrated in mid-winter, food that keeps the
body warm and in high energy are prepared. Til Laddus
(small round sweets made of sesame seeds and jaggery)
are a specialty food prepared on this festival day and
offered to God as naivedyam before distributing it to
friends and family. Makar Sankranti is also one of the
sacred bathing dates for the Kumbh Mela, marking the
beginning of the Kumbh Mela.

Kumbh Mela
vedic renaissance
Kumbh Mela is the oldest Hindu pilgrimage
that is organized once in every 12 years and switched
between 4 locations - Prayag, Haridwar, Ujjain and Nasik
in India. Many sadhus, swamis, yogis, ascetics and
hermits attend the Mela and bestow their blessings.
It is attended by millions of people thus making it the
largest gathering of humanity anywhere in the world.
People across the globe shedding all their differences,
be it young or old, men or women, rich or poor, spiritual
seekers, religious leaders, they all gather and merge
into this ocean of humanity. The beauty of the Kumbh
Mela is that there is neither any invitation or publicity
for such a huge gathering nor does the city that hosts
such a huge gathering have an airport. Spiritually,
the purpose of the Kumbh Mela is to bring all the
enlightened masters’ (both living masters and masters
who have left the body) tremendous positive energy
in one place and shower the whole group with that
positive energy. Research has shown that a person’s
thoughts and energy can affect the water. Hence the
river water around which the Kumbh Mela is conducted
becomes amrit (nectar) itself. It brings a tremendous
collective positive energy that is radiated not only to
the place where the Kumbh Mela happens, but also for
the whole planet earth. It is such and intense energy
field that everybody is in such an intense energy field
that the best possibility that can happen to a human
being happens only in the Kumbh Mela.

No More Migraines!Kriya given by Nithyananda in his Daily Morning Discourse, on 15th December, 2011 at the Bidadi Ashram, India
Migraine is a chronic neurological
disorder characterized by moderate to
severe headaches, and nausea. It is about
three times more common in women than
in men.
The typical migraine headache is unilateral
(affecting one half of the head) and pulsating
in nature and lasting from two to 72
hours; symptoms include nausea, vomiting,
photophobia (increased sensitivity to light)
and phonophobia (increased sensitivity to
sound); the symptoms are generally
aggravated by routine activity. The
underlying cause of migraines is
unknown. There are, however,
many biological events that have
been clinically associated with
migraine. Migraines may be induced
by triggers, with common triggers
quoted are stress, hunger, and
fatigue.

Cardamom, the Queen of SpicesCardamom (ElEttaria Cardamomum), popularly CallEd ‘thE
QuEEn of SpiCES’ consists of whole or ground dried fruit, or seeds
of a herbaceous perennial plant of the ginger family. The seeds have
a warm, slightly pungent, and highly aromatic flavour somewhat
reminiscent of camphor. Originally from the rain forests of India,
they are prized for centuries for their beautifully fragrant flavour,
aroma as well as for their therapeutic effects. Today in the West
they are still highly valued for their ability to relieve tension and
anxiety, to dispel lethargy and nervous exhaustion, to lift the spirits
and to improve memory and concentration.

In Ayurvedic medicine they have long been esteemed for their
ability to lift the spirits, reduce pain, restore vitality and induce a
calm, meditative state of mind. Studies show that the essential oil
has anti-inflammatory and pain relieving properties. Cardamom
is highly effective as an antispasmodic, relieving muscle pain and

By stimulating the secretion of digestive juices they stimulate appetite, enhance digestion and absorption of food, and with their relaxing effect on smooth muscle in the digestive tract they can settle the stomach, especially when it is affected by stress. In modern Ayurvedic medicine cardamoms are a popular remedy for nervous digestive upsets in children, and are often combined with fennel. When simmered in water for a few minutes and taken as a hot tea, they will relieve colic, flatulence and indigestion, and helps combat nausea and vomiting.

They have a mild laxative effect and are especially good for relieving that uncomfortable feeling from overeating. Their warming and stimulating effects are recommended for those feeling rundown and tired, especially in the winter. Added to milk products and puddings they can actually counteract the mucus-forming properties of milk. Their stimulating expectorant action helps to clear phlegm from the nose and sinuses as well as the chest, making them a good remedy for colds, coughs, asthma and chest infections. Cardamom iS known to bE hElpful in balanCing all three ‘doshas’ in the human body. A dosha is one of three bodily humors that make up one’s constitution according to Ayurveda. Hence it is termed as “tridoshic”. A little quantity of cardamom is especially beneficial in balancing kapha. It can be used for balancing vata and pitta also. Along with some other medicines, it can be used for treating mouth ulcers. Ayurveda practitioners advise its use for treating urinary tract infections.

Honesty is not Authenticity!
honESty iS only onE ingrEdiEnt for authenticity. It is not authenticity by
itself. Honesty is only the first step, initial step. Honesty is a socially good quality.
Authenticity is a spiritual quality. It is not a socially good quality. Authenticity
means - living the spiritual truths authentically. I will give you the difference
between honesty and authenticity. For example, If you are angry with somebody,
you will express directly to that person, “I am angry with you.” It is honesty. But
that is not authenticity. Authenticity means, really two beings understand each
other, where even the anger will not happen.
SEE, in a huSband lying to his wife, neither there is honesty nor authenticity.
Husband telling the truth to his wife that he is a womanizer is honesty, but not
authenticity. Husband living just as husband is authenticity. So each person’s
role, if he or she is completely living, it is authentic. When he is failing and
revealing the failure to the other person it is honesty. Revealing the failure is not
living successfully, understand. It is honest, no doubt, but not authentic.
honESty will alwayS bE dEmanding; I am honest, you be honest.
Authenticity will be always flowing. I am flowing, I don’t bother about you.
Authenticity fills you and others. Honesty burns others and you. Many times
honesty is a poor substitute for authenticity and the very idea of honesty is built
on your ego. But authenticity is built on the cosmic understanding. Authenticity
is, living the truths from yourself. Honesty is, living the versions of the truths
given to you by society. What do most of the honest people say? Whatever
society taught you as a truth you try to live that. It is just based on the facts and
the figures, which is not the truth of the life!

is the meaning of the word: keeping the balance sheet
in tune with the cosmos? Means: just remembering
continuously you are not qualified for anything:
everything is showered on you is what I mean with
keeping your balance sheet straight with the cosmos.
You don’t need to pay anything back; cosmos does
not ask you anything back. Only thing: the attitude
everything is a gift to you is keeping the balance sheet
authentic with the cosmos. You do not know; gratitude

Move from Honesty to Authenticity!
whEthEr it iS in thE individual’s life or the countries’ history or the whole cosmos: honesty is not authenticity. I always tell people: if you are honest you will have your feet at my place, you will have a place at my feet. But when you are authentic you will have a place in my heart, your heart will have place in me. Understand; there is a big difference between honesty and authenticity. The very foundation on which you built your honesty, the very foundation in which I am living is totally different. Please understand: you need to move from honesty to authenticity. But the problem is these so called honest fellows will be so arrogant! They will think that is the ultimate. It is very rare that people evolve from honesty to authenticity. Blessed are those who evolve from honesty to authenticity. Authenticity means: living it – living the truth. Non-compromising, non-suffering, and non-bending. Courage. And non-violent.
Authenticity IS Listening
whEn you don’t liStEn thErE is no verbal communication possible, there is no authenticity; there is no mystical communion possible. When there is no listening, communication is not possible, when there is no authenticity, communion is not possible. All initiations are communion between my inner space and your inner space. When communion happens I also feel fulfilled. When your kundalini is awakened, I am fulfilled because in cosmic space all initiations work on you only when there is authenticity. People ask me why sometimes some healing by you works miracles, some healing doesn’t become miracles.
thE wholE thing boilS down to authenticity. Understand, I pronounce these words with Mahaakaala’s authenticity, the heart I carry, the will which makes decisions in me, and the energy, power, Shakti, which is functioning in me cannot escape from authenticity. When it sees authenticity, it cannot say no. When I see authenticity, I cannot say no to what you are asking, whatever you ask. The best way to overpower me is authenticity.

Three levels of Integration
onE of thE important SuffEring human beings have in their life is the problem of not having integrity. I’ll explain the integrity in different levels to you. First is the intellect - the logic, analyzing. Second is emotion, a feeling of connection, the juicy part of your life. The third is the being, your very idea about you, which is constant, which runs like a thread during your waking, dream and deep sleep state. During all these three states, it runs like a common thread. That is why when you get back to waking state you are remembering the same personality. You remember about yourself as the same continuity. This is what I call the “being”. Understand, in all these three there is a lot of disturbance. You will understand the intellectual disturbance. The moment you start planning for one thing, within a few seconds some other plan will be going on in the other part of the brain. That is why I always tell people, it is a disintegrated brain. Right brain and left brain. Nothing is right in the left, nothing is left in the right. Dis-integrated brain. It goes on and on and on in different directions. Integrity – Path to Your Life’s Purpose
whEn you bring intEgrity into your thinking all these patterns get destroyed just by the existence of integrity. Because every time you think, every statement you complete, you will see if it is in alignment with your existence, your life’s purpose. When the integrity in the words starts, you will create workability in the outer world. When the integrity in your thinking starts, you will create creativity itself in the inner world. When you are aligning your every thought with the purpose of your existence, integrating your every thought with the purpose of your existence, you are creating, it is creativity. Creativity is not just painting something or sculpting something or designing something; creativity means creating life as you want. When you align your thoughts, just visualize and see if you are applying integrity.
Possibility, not Past
EvEry thought, EvEry idEa you ConSCiouSly aCknowlEdgE is a promise given to you by you, so you have to fulfill it. So you will be aware before giving any promise to yourself. You will see, it is a commitment; will I be able to fulfill it or not? Am I going to believe only my past records or am I going to believe my possibility? My past records make me feel I am a failure. The fight between past records and possibility is the fight between creativity and laziness. One fortunate thing is that I don’t look at the past records. Do not believe in past records. Believe only in possibility.

Integrity and Authenticity = Living Enlightenment
whEn you intEgratE your intEllECt it becomes knowledge. It leads you to life solutions, you will understand about the cosmos. When you integrate your emotions, it leads to devotion; you will feel connected to the cosmos. When you integrate your being it leads to Dhyana (meditation) – you will realize the cosmos. Understanding, emotional feeling connection, realization. All these three happen just by integration. Integrity is the ultimate yoga. It solves all the problems of life. I can say, it dissolves all the problems of life. So have integrity and achieve enlightenment.

Q) I keep feeling that there is something not so authentic about the way
I am leading my life. I am doing everything right, I am even paying my
taxes. But still, how to live a really authentic life?
One needs tO understand that there is a difference between honesty and authenticity. When a person says they are even paying their taxes, they are honest and there is no doubt about it. But it cannot be mistaken for authenticity. Honesty is only the first step; it is one ingredient necessary for authenticity. Authenticity is something more than honesty. It is a spiritual quality. If a person completely lives his/her life authentically, without being bothered about others perception about them, then that person is authentic. Maybe one needs to add a little gratitude to bring authenticity in their life. It means just developing the attitude of remembering continuously that everything is a gift given by the cosmos in one’s life and that a person is not qualified for anything. Gratitude is such a powerful ingredient that the moment it is added to one’s honesty, it automatically becomes authenticity.
many peOple mistake hOnesty fOr authenticity. Honesty is not authenticity. Honesty will always be demanding that same honesty from the other person. Many times people who are honest will torture the other person in the name of honesty. Authenticity makes the person as well as the people around him full. Authenticity will be flowing like a cool stream that will neither bother nor disturb anybody. hOnesty is better than dishOnesty and hypocrisy, but the very idea of honesty is built on the ego. Honest people try to live their life based on the facts and figures given by the society in the name of truth. However such facts and figures are not the truths of life. Authenticity is based on the cosmic understanding. Authenticity is living the truths from one’s self. Hence honesty is a foolish substitute for authenticity. With honesty one will have a place at God's feet, but only with authenticity one will have a place in God's heart.

Omkara : The First, Last & Ultimate Sound!Taken from Nithyananda’s Shiva Sutra discourse series in May 2007, St. Louis, Missouri, USA
Omkara is the primal sound. It is the first, last and
ultimate sound. When centered on the core of the sound, it
can lead you to the space beyond mind.
It is very important to be centered on the mantra. Do
not question, think or talk. Let the whole body and mind fill
inside the OM mantra until it is lost completely inside the
mantra. Only focus on the OM vibration inside the core and
be centered on it.
It is recommended to practice this meditation
continuously for ten days in order to be able to sit without
thoughts. The mind will be filled by the sound, vibration
that is created and will not be moving outside the vibration.
It is advised to experiment with this technique in order to
see the power of it.
33 beyond mind
Omkara : The First, Last & Ultimate Sound! INSTRUCTIONS
1. Close your eyes and sit in a relaxed way. Concentrate on
the navel center, Manipuraka Chakra.
2. Take a few breaths to concentrate your awareness on
your navel chakra.
3. Forget all parts of your body, only remember the navel
chakra.
4. Start the Omkara (OM) vibration from your navel
center as deeply as possible. As you create the omkara sound
simultaneously be centered on the sound. Do not allow the
mind to go anywhere else as it is very common for the mind to
wander around when mantras are chanted.
5. Do the Omkara sound for ten minutes focusing on the
vibration that it creates in your navel center.
6. Stop. Sit for a few minutes in silence. Try to listen to the
sound without creating any sound. Be filled by the sound.
7. Relax and open your eyes.

Nirahara, A Life Without BoundAries
nirahari lifestyle
Nithyanandam!
My name is Ana Maria from Paris Kalighat
Satsang Center in France. I participated in
“Nirahara Samyama” in June 2012 with the first
batch Swamiji started. Nirahara Samyama is a
spiritual process of living without food, beyond
fasting and feasting, and being able to take
prana (life force energy) straight from the ether
as the energy source to live. In the past I had
fasted before but never more than three days.
Until I experienced Nirahara Samyama I had
never experienced such a strong energy and
sense of well-being. Right from the beginning
I experienced a powerful energy supporting the
process.
I soon realized that this supportive
energy was Swamiji’s energy directly
transferred to us. I saw that this energy was not
only transforming my eating patterns, but was
equally helping people around me. During the
third level of 11 days of fasting I went on a trip
to Morocco with two other people. One of them
stopped eating solid food and joined me in the
samyama, while the other person could not eat
more than half of the quantity of food he was
usually taking. I was so surprised to see this!
After the third level was completed I spontaneously felt that I couldn’t stop the process, so I came to India
to experience ”The Samyama” which is a free 21 day program.
By AnA MAriA Precetti, PAris, FrAnce After “The Samyama“
35 nirahari lifestyle
Through the morning satsang and the powerful evening darshans (initiations) Swamiji
transferred his bio-memory of a yogi and sadhu to
us, transforming us into powerful ”Niraharis”. Of
course some effort from our side was needed, but
the whole process was mainly Swamiji’s grace and
support for all of us. Swamiji is a unique guru and a
powerful experienced yogi. We are blessed to have
Him as a master!
The first days I was not sure if I was going
to be able to complete the process as all the Inner
Awakening participants were eating nice food in our
presence. With each day passing the success that
Swamiji ensured to all of us became reality. Not only
were we all 100% successful in stopping eating, but
most of us could even continue fasting the days after
the process was finished. This was literally more than
I ever expected.
I personally felt that this whole process was a big cleansing and alignment with the inner
self and my spiritual mission. I had a clear perception
of my spiritual mission on Earth which is linked to
Swami Nithyananda. Clear, sharp intuition was raising
and the right understanding was effortlessly coming.
I felt that my inner self had been aligned with the higher
self, clearly revealing my life’s purpose. My body went
through a huge transformation since the beginning of
the Nirahara. I lost 10 kg without effort, especially in the
first part of Nirahara Samyama, which really made me
have a great “yogic body” again. In the second part, as
the body was naturally absorbing only prana and the
master’s energy, I stopped losing weight. The kriyas and
yoga exercises we practiced during the last days brought
flexibility and well-being.
The most amazing aspect is that of “going beyond food”. My bio-memory has been completely
cleaned from the need for food. The greed and longing
for food has completely disappeared. I feel an intense
freedom - eating or non-eating is completely equal for
me today. Even though I have been practicing yoga for
a long time, it is only now that I clearly understand the
meaning of “being a yogi” from this rich experience of
the “Nirahara Samyama.”
I encourage everyone to experience this unique process in the presence of the master! Go do it
and you will be amazed to see the results at all levels of
your being!

Paramahamsa Nithyananda’s first
spiritual experience can be aptly expressed
by a beautiful verse from the Shiva Sutras – “Feeling
the cosmos as a translucent, ever-living presence”.
It was only after his first enlightenment experience
that he felt something very different in him which
he had never felt before. When his first experience
happened, Nithyananda was only about twelve years
old - a child. One day, he was sitting on The Coral
Rock at the foothills of Arunachala and playfully
trying a simple meditation technique given to him
by an enlightened master, Annamalai Swamigal. He
was intensely observing and intensely present in
the moment. Generally, for any spiritual experience
to happen, two things are required. One is to be
completely open and available to the surroundings
and second is the presence of an intense spiritual
energy field. Sometimes even if a person is open,
they may not be in the energy field and so, the first
cracking of the coconut may not happen, since this
is a most difficult job. Fortunately Nithyananda had
the energy field of the spiritual incubator Arunachala,
and was attracted to the beauty of that hill. Normally,
when people see a hill or a river or an ocean everyday,
they take it for granted, but that did not happen with
him. He was continuously open and available, in the
sense that every single glance of the hill was seen
with fresh eyes and an open mind.
What is enlightenment?
Taken from Nithyananda’s Shiva Sutra
Discourse series in Montclair, California,
USA in 2007
41 in the life of
During the Poornima (full moon day), Nithyananda was
sitting on the coral rock. It was after sunset and before the raising
of the moon. There was an intense and vivid silence around him.
Nithyananda was playfully experimenting with the simple technique
of trying to find the source of his thoughts. As he was doing this,
first the understanding happened to him that he is not solid as he
always thought. The body and mind are not solid. They are just liquid,
porous, and empty. One can go in and come out. One can get out or
get in. Anything can be done. The first truth he experienced was that
he is an empty, porous being.
Secondly, he slowly observed that his eyes have
closed because of the deep silence. Next, he noticed that something
opened up inside him which is beyond his two eyes. The moment
that happened, he was not only able to see what was in front of him,
but also all around him in a three-sixty degree vision! It was not just
seeing, he also felt that everything was a part of him. With closed eyes
one can see only their inner space, they can feel it. But Nithyananda
felt that the idea of a boundary or a border was completely broken
down and he could see everything around him, including all the eight
directions, above and below. As alive as one can feel inside their body,
that same life, that same presence he experienced with everything
around him. He intensely felt that he was present in everything. For a
few hours, he did not even remember his body.
42
Slowly and vaguely, he started
remembering his body in the same way as one would
remember their body in a dream. Nithyananda
managed to come down from the rock and talked
to Mataji Kuppammal (Vibhudhaananda Mataji),
who was one of his first inspirations, and told her
what had happened. She felt his hands and saw the
energy there. She laughed and said that he was not
possessed by a ghost, he was possessed by God!
She encouraged and took care of him. However,
even after two days, the experience or ability to see
all three sixty degrees was very strong in him and
did not go away.
One who can feel the cosmos as a
translucent, ever-living presence will have
tremendous intelligence and will know exactly
how to connect. Living in the present moment
passionately, intensely and with a feeling that it is
their last moment is what can help one achieve this
experience.

here are a feW Of the numerous priceless gifts from
my beloved master.
i had put all my energy, love and attention into a
relationship with a man and I had done all possible
things to make this relationship as harmonious, loving
and respectful as possible. I had done it with all my
being and sincerity with what I was at the time and the
understanding that I had. All these efforts were vain
and I did not know why. The situation lasted many
years! I ended up very low, in a state of distress, in
total incomprehension of what had happened and of
what was happening. I was in a very poor state! For
three years, I was more like a vegetable! Life followed
its course.
One day, in april 2011, something happened. A
wave of higher consciousness swept through me. This
wave accompanied me for months and transformed
me beyond recognition. Its strength, a strength which
I had not, was acting inside me and all my actions
became different overnight without my knowing why.
This wave of incredible power protected me until I met
Swamiji, my master.
peOple arOund me and i watched all these changes.
I was unable to explain what was happening, it just
happened. It was not ego; it was not my intelligence,
since I had remained in that story for years. I also
started to speak on topics about which I have not
received any knowledge. Words came out of me
and after this conversation, I have many times asked
myself, “Where are these words coming from?”,
because I have never read or heard on these subjects!
It was miraculous to live it. This wave made me face
situations with much distance; it gave me a great
peace and I lived everything with innocence.
in september 2011, i Went to a 2-day initiation by
Swamiji in Paris. It was a big surprise to recognize in
Swamiji’s teachings, the words that I had started to
speak!
these 2 days Were amazing and powerful. Just before
this program, I found myself naturally helping out in
the organization and preparation of the rooms for this
program with Ma Arpana, and throughout this phase
of preparation I had impressions of “already seen” and
“already known”. All was fluid, in nice energy, peaceful,
and very efficient and I found my place naturally. I feel
I found what I was searching for.

One day, the ultimate realizatiOn was given to
me: I understood that the relationship I so cherished
did not exist! Upon my return from India after Inner
Awakening (IA), when that person contacted me,
I had the courage to tell him what I had been given
to understand and he accepted it. The relationship
stopped without any suffering.
When in ia, all the truths received from Swamiji
gave me a lot in terms of understanding and peace in
different areas: in my private and professional life, as
well as in spiritual aspirations. It was a big adjustment
that arrived at the right time. I felt rescued by life,
by the grace of being accepted as a disciple by
Swamiji. All these words centered me through
realizing the error of certain choices I had made
or directions I had taken or was taking, through
ignorance.
i came back enriched by the wealth of
experiences and wisdom that Swamiji infused
in me, rich with new understandings following
my experiences on site. It changed my life,
my relationship with myself and others, with
spirituality, with the divine and with life. In
contact with the truth that I felt in my body
through my experiences there, I am able to see
and understand many things in all areas of my
life and I came back with a new consciousness.
all this is very cOncrete and tangible, and those
close to me give me a feedback through their
observation of daily changes. I discovered people’s
attitude towards me and Swamiji and the effects of
Swamiji’s radiating energy that I carry inside or that
he also transmits through different medias (among
others, a case of spontaneous healing, spontaneous
calls from people asking for help). All that I learned to
understand and to live was shared with much humility
as I was also an apprentice. Life is beautiful.
